•That's The Idea•

The sun bathed the classroom in a soft light as I sat down and leaned my crutch against the wall, my eyes lost in the flower petals gently floating in the wind holding the freedom I had longed for all these years yet despite how peaceful this day seemed, the words spoken by a mere memory of a man haunted my mind. My eyes ripped themselves away from the window when Kirishima's arm found itself wrapped around my shoulders as I slightly flinched at the sensation of someone new laying their hands on me, and that was when I noticed that despite the fact that it had only been a few days since the attack, our classmates treated one another like old friends.

"Attention ! Homeroom class is about to begin !" Iida yelled as he burst in. "Everyone stop shouting and take your seats."

"Most of us are already sitting." I managed to point out. "Except you Class Rep."

Suddenly, the door slid open to reveal our homeroom teacher wrapped in bandages from head to toe, his eyes barely visible through the shadows cast onto his face yet I could feel his eyes burning into my soul just like they had when I saved him from the monstrosity only second away from taking his life. Why did I move ?

"Morning class." He greeted as he walked over to the podium. "Your fight isn't over yet because the U.A Sports Festival is about to start."

As everyone in the class started cheering and chatting about how the Festival would be seen by people across the country, I couldn't help but question our teacher's decision seeing as a war had just been declared on U.A, on the students that would be broadcasted across the country.

"Mr. Aizawa." I called out. "Is it really such a good idea to hold the Sports Festival so soon after the villains snuck inside ? Us being in the same place just makes it easier for them to attack."

"Apparently the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat and that the school is safer than ever." He sighed. "Plus, they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at U.A. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains."

Once again, my eyes wandered off to the trees gently swaying in the wind as their petals slowly tinted red as if blood had been spilt onto them and just as I caught sight of the same blue bird that seemed to be following me around, a heavy tear rolled down my cheek before crashing onto my desk, forming a small red stain. This isn't a good idea...I doubt any of us want to die.

"Our Sports Festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world." Mr. Aizawa continued. "In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic Games, but then quirks started appearing. Now the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership, for anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters, the U.A Sports Festival."

As I thought back to the vague times I had heard about the Sports Festival, all I could remember was the fact that top heroes everywhere would be watching us closely to determine who got the chance to join their agencies as sidekicks after they graduated. Students had one chance a year, three chances in a lifetime and after that we were on our own meaning that since I already had a disadvantage when it came to my birth, I had to train harder than I ever had with my so called instructors to the point where my knuckles were used to the bone.

.......

I quietly sat on my desk with my legs dangling off the edge as I listened the joyful chatter about the Sports Festival filling the room and even with my blood slowly dripping onto the ground in a painfully rythmic manner, I managed to get absorbed into the excitement everyone was bringing to the atmosphere.

"Hey Suzuya." Sero called out. "You excited ? This is something more than just a chance to be scouted for you right ? You finally get to show everyone that you're meant to be a hero."

"Yeah..." I sighed, tilting my head upwards to face the ceiling. "I guess it's pretty nerve wrecking too though I mean...it's not like I can go out there and expect the heroes to see that I'm not just my father's daughter, half of them already know who I am."

"You're not like him at all, well not from what I've seen." He countered. "I've seen you look out for everyone you fought beside and you even jumped in the way of that Nomu knowing you could die, to me you're already our strongest classmate, not just in terms of quirk."

At that moment, it felt as though someone finally accepted me for who I truly was and the chains binding me to failure slowly fractured as a new hope filled my heart because in spite of how the world decided to see my life, these people were changing the course of my fate. The HPSC's hold on me was slipping from their hands and I knew that they could see it too, which meant that it was only a matter of time before yet another battle crossed my path, one that would determine who had more resolve, me, or the people who so desperately tried to keep my existence under wraps for years.

"B-But I..." I whispered. "I'm scared Sero, I don't want to hurt you guys."

As I slightly turned my gaze to the rest of my classmates, I spotted a familiar figure standing in the doorway and motioning for me to come along so I slowly slid off the desk before grabbing my crutch in order to head after him. I limped towards him and that was when I noticed that his expression seemed unreadable despite the years I had spent learning how to talk to him based off the look in his eyes, which were now filled with nothing but an emotion I had never seen nor felt before.

"So...is your leg doing better ?" Bakugo asked as we walked through the hallways. "You went to see Recovery Girl right ? Do you think it's gonna be okay for the festival ?"

"Alright, alright enough with the questions." I giggled. "I'm doing just fine don't worry, it's still numb but I can feel it sometimes so...I guess that's good. She said I'd be able to walk properly again in about 3 weeks or so I kept taking the medication she precribed and did all my exercises but...it won't be functional for the Sports Festival."

Despite how much I wanted this to finally be over so that my training wouldn't be as painful, no amount of pressure could ever make me willingly take any more drugs, not after what they did by using medication which was supposed to be solely for a fever. The blond suddenly stopped in front of a large window and silently looked down at the ground as if a weight had been dropped onto him, which forced a silence to settle between us, only this one was not the one that took all of our worries away, this was one we were not used to. This silence was more frightening than any other because this one was loaded with words that could not be spoken in one another's presence, words too scary to even be thought of and too painful to say out loud.

"Yuki this...this is all my fault." He said as he clenched his fists. "If I had just paid more attention then you wouldn't have ended up like this."

"You're wrong..." I objected, my eyes wandering off to the outside world. "I could have decided to leave you there to be killed by that monster but I couldn't bear the thought of losing you too."

Just as our gazes found one another, his hand slid over my own as my lips curled into a hesitant smile, forcing his to do the same before we finally burst out laughing, forgetting the struggles of the world around us, forgetting all of the pain and fear hidden deep in our hearts.

If only you knew how much you've saved me from Katsu.
