2020:18-Northern Lights

Marinette was a little confused when Damian asked her to take the second and third week of February off of work. It wasn't that hard to do since she worked at Wayne Enterprise, but she had to wonder if the Waynes knew what was up.

On February the tenth, she was told to pack for extremely cold weather. Damian knew she hated the cold so it left her more curious then ever. As they boarded the flight, she found out they were going to Alaska.

Once they got to Alaska, they took a smaller flight to Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge, an exclusive fly-in wilderness resort.

Despite her view on the cold, Marinette was loving their couples getaway. What she loved the most was spending time with the sledding dogs. They were so fluffy! Damian worked them hard, but he made sure to take care of them afterwards.

On the 17th of February, they were told they would be able to see the Northern Lights. Damian took them to a secluded spot so they could watch the lights.

"I know you were probably expecting something romantic for Valentine's Day." he began.

"Damian, what are you talking about? This is romantic! This trip has been amazing! I don't need a Valentine's filled with flowers and chocolates or any other thing that the movies say; I just want time with you." Marinette replied.

They took some photos of the Northern Lights and headed back to their cabin. When the got back, Damian lit the fireplace and brought her to the couch.

"Marinette, I have loved spending every moment with you. You have brought me so much joy and I want to continue having you in my life." Damian spoke as he pulled out a box, "A girl like you deserves something special and unique. I couldn't think of anything more unique then the Northern Lights. I had wanted to do this under the lights, but I wouldn't have forgiven myself had I dropped this in the snow. Marinette, Angel, Habibiti, will you marry me?"

"Yes!" Marinette shouted, kissing him.

Before their flight back, they decided to post the pictures from their trip. They posted the photos of the sledding dogs, the cabin, some of the food they had eaten and, of course, the Northern Lights. They last photo that had been posted was Marinette and Damian, showing off her ring.

Both families sent their congratulations to the newly engaged couple. Soon their phones were blowing up from friends and the rest of the internet.

Damian saw a text from Dick and clicked on it.

Why did you wait so long?-Dick
