We sat through the first part of the credits with the awkward space between us, I could see Lincoln getting frustrated about something until he gripped my arm tightly and pulled me down onto his chest, I looked at him but he just looked at the movie. So I made myself comfortable against his chest, putting my head down and letting my arms lay about his waist gently, his heart was beating really fast and his chest muscles were really hard but as I bunched a handful of his shirt up at his waist it didn't feel like I was doing anything wrong. I wonder what mum would say... The timer for the meatloaf went off and I paused the movie to go and sort it out before coming back and he had his arms open waiting for me to take my spot back up. I did so and we continued to watch the movie.
'Do you want to stay for dinner?' I asked quietly.
'Yeah.' He mumbled against the top of my head. I heard the door and pulled so there was a normal space between us, Lincoln didn't argue or protest, dad walking in looking surprised.
'Hello, hey bud I didn't know you were having friends over?'
'It... this is Lincoln.' He looked down at Lincoln who stood up and dad grinned.
'It's good to see you son. I thought I saw your dad on my way to work but I thought that could just be me missing old times.'
'No, we moved back the other day.'
'Well that's wonderful, I'm glad to see you two picking up where you left off, will you be staying for dinner?'
'If it's not a burden?'
'No, Asher makes great meals, I'm just going to shower and I'll be in.' Dad said and I nodded before standing. Lincoln and I went and got everything ready, he sorted out the table while I started dishing everything up, I'd made salad the other night so there was meatloaf and salad. Dad came back and he'd had a shower, working in the mines he gets so dirty, that's partially why I clean so much because one he tracks dirt into the house and two if you work in dirt all day wouldn't you like to come home to something clean? 'I can't believe you're back, and you two are back together.' My heart rate picked up when he said we were together. 'You were absolutely inseperable when you were children, your dad actually had to drag you away from Asher when you were moving.' Dad laughed. 'You guys did everything together, it was such an intense relationship.' Dad muttered the last bit with a slightly confused look.
'I was told it was sever attachment issues, growing up apart seemed to dull the severity but being back I'd really like to be friends again.' Lincoln said and my dad smiled.
'Good, Asher needs some good friends.' I looked at dad who flinched. 'I'm not saying that your friends you have now are bad just, they do stuff you don't want to, you and Lincoln used to do stuff that you liked.'
'I was five, I liked a lot of things.'
'No you did not.' Dad laughed. 'You were one of the pickiest, pedantic kids I knew, you wouldn't play football and you would only watch if Lincoln was playing, you hated Video games but you'd play if Lincoln wanted to play, you did like cooking though, and Lincoln would just sit and watch you and your mums work in the kitchen.' Dad smiled as he remembered mum and I looked down at my plate, I noticed that Lincoln was doing the same. Dad made enough small talk for all of us before we were all finished and he thanked me with a kiss on the top of my head and headed to bed. Lincoln helped me with the dishes and I felt better that he was here.
'I...' Lincoln started but stopped as he dried the dishes and I washed them quietly. 'I'm sorry about your mum.' He whispered as his arm pressed against mine and I slowly stopped washing the dishes causing him to stop because he had nothing to dry.
'Thanks.' I said quietly and his hand slid up under the back of his jumper and up my shirt to rest on the small of my back, his hands were warm, it felt nice to have him touch my skin. I quickly went back to the dishes but he leant in and pressed his mouth against my neck, biting gently which made me shiver. He removed his hand and mouth from my body, simply going back to drying the dishes and putting them away.
'I should head off, it's a school night.' He said as I dried my hands on the towel he was holding, I couldn't look at him, I was so nervous about the neck kiss he'd just given me.
'Okay.' I nodded and we walked to the door, he stopped and turned back to me, cupping my cheek and pulling me closer, his hand reaching under my clothes again to rest on my skin.
'I'm going to kiss you now, just warning you.' He said before pressing his lips against mine harshly and he pulled me closer, I gripped the sides of his shirt tightly not really sure what to do other than kiss him back but I didn't really know how so I just tried to mimic his movements. He pulled away and ran his thumb over my lips. 'Your lips get so swollen when I kiss you, do you hate it?' He asked and I shook my head. 'I'll see you tomorrow. Do you want me to come get you?' I shook my head.
'It's not that far to walk.' I said and he nodded before kissing me once more and walking out the door. I locked the door and made sure everything was tidy before heading back to my room and looking over the work from today. Chemistry was pretty easy for me, so it didn't take me long to do the homework, I showered and went to bed and all I could think about was Lincoln, part of me was worried that I was being brain washed or it was like some form of Stockholm syndrome but I'm probably just over exaggerating. I missed him a lot and I used to find myself thinking about him all the time, like what he looked like now, was he happy, did he have a girlfriend, things like that. But now I'm technically his girlfriend... I felt my face warm at that before I buried it into my pillow and tried to sleep.
I walked into school and Jaxon was quick to come over.
'Hey, did you get home okay? You just went with that new guy. Anthony said you guys were friend when you were like five though but I mean people change, I heard he has a temper and yelled at some kid yesterday for running into him.'
'I'm fine, Lincoln is my... Lincoln is my friend, I trust him.' I felt a tight grip on my wrist, it was almost painful so I knew it was Lincoln.
'You right?' He asked and I nodded. 'I'm going to check the positions, do you want to come with me?' I nodded and he started dragging me away. Jaxon didn't seemed pleased as I waved him goodbye and Lincoln walked me to the coaches office near the gym. A group of guys were standing around the door looking at a piece of paper, Lincoln shuffled through and looked at the paper, coming back he looked pissed off.
'What's wrong?'
'I'm only the back up quarterback.' He said through gritted teeth.
'Did you get a starting position?'
'Running back.' He muttered seeming seriously pissed off.
'That's good though, you're new and you're on the starting line up.'
'I wanted quarterback.' He muttered and I bit my lip looking around before taking his hand and leading him into the stairwell for the basement. He tore away from my grip and started punching the wall.
'Lin... Lincoln stop, you're going to injure... you're going to hurt your hands.' He roared out but stopped.
'I wanted quarterback.'
'Why did you want it so bad?' I asked and he flinched, looking away from me. 'Lincoln?'
'I wanted it so that you would come and watch me play.' He muttered and I was surprised, more surprised that I slid my hand into his again, I'm not usually this daring especially since he's angry and I'm not great with angry people.
'I'll still come and watch you play.' I said quietly and he looked over his shoulder at me. 'I don't care what position you play, if you ask me to come and watch then I will.' He turned to me so quickly that I flinched, he gripped my hair and pulled my head back, exposing my neck and making my mouth open, a small noise came out of my mouth and it surprised me.
