Jaxon and Lincoln started yelling and the principal didn't seem happy.
'Enough. You two quiet.' He said pointing at Jaxon and Lincoln. 'Asher, I would like you to tell me please, I understand that Jaxon is your friend but I hear you've become quite attached to Lincoln in his few days here.'
'The boys were friends when they were little.' Mr Mathews said and the principal nodded.
'Alright, Asher, can you please tell me what happened?' I looked at Jaxon and then at Lincoln.
'Lincoln told me we had to go eat lunch when the bell rang so we went to the cafeteria.' I rung my hands, I didn't like this... 'Lincoln went and bought his lunch and the guys came and sat around the table while he was gone, he came back and Lincoln and Jaxon were talking and then Jaxon asked about what happened to Lincoln's face.' Mr Mathews groaned out and rubbed his hand over his face. 'I told him twice not to, he knows Lincoln can have a bad temper but he asked and Lincoln snapped and hit Jaxon in the face with his lunch tray before storming out.'
'And you went after Lincoln? Even though he was in a volatile state?' I looked at Lincoln who looked upset.
'He wouldn't hurt me.' He looked at me with a pained look before looking back at his feet. The principal hummed and took a deep breath.
'Right well, the way I see it, the two of you are responsible for this, your nose isn't broken so I don't see any reason for suspension. You will both serve detention for the rest of the week, and let me make this clear.' He said looking over to Jaxon. 'If you provoke a student like that again you will be suspended and that won't look good on your college applications. And you.' He turned to Lincoln. 'If you don't get that temper under control you will be suspended as well.'
'And you're just going to take this kids word?' Jaxon's dad asked and the principal looked at him surprised.
'Yes Mr Kuller. Asher Grisham is probably the smartest person in this room, he has never been in trouble, he has perfect grades and he has never lied since I met him, and seeing as I've know him since he was six that's a pretty good record so yes. I trust him.' Jaxon's dad clicked his tongue and glared at me before taking his son outside.
'Sorry about that.' The principal smiled before standing. 'You boys wait outside I'd like to talk to Lincoln's dad for a moment.' We nodded and Lincoln guided me outside and over to the corner to talk to me.
'I'm so sorry about what I did to you.' He whispered, he looked like he was honestly in so much pain.
'It's okay.'
'It's not okay!' He whispered harshly. 'It's not okay, what I did, that was sexual assault.'
'No... No, I didn't say no, I didn't ask you to stop, I'm okay with it. I... I came... I came and everything.' I muttered my face getting hot.
'You liked it?' He asked quietly, it was like there was no one else around as when we were like this. I bit my lip.
'A little, the bites hurt now but,' I looked up at him, 'I told you, I'm okay if it's you.' He searched my face before his hand came up and pulled at the collar of his jumper, so he could see the bite marks he had left.
'They look bad.' He whispered and I took his hand away so the girl at the desk would stop looking at us.
'We shouldn't talk about this here.' Jaxon was staring at us as well, his dad having left to go back to a business meeting or something. I remember him telling me his parents travelled a lot so it probably wasn't the best thing that when his dad is home he had to come down to the school to see that his son had gotten into a fight.
'I'm going to go and see if he's okay.' I whispered and Lincoln gripped my wrist tightly. 'It's okay, I'll come back.' He slowly released my wrist and I headed over to see Jaxon. 'Are you okay?' I asked sitting next to him.
'Yeah.' He didn't look at me first but slowly his face turned. 'I don't like him.'
'I know.'
'I don't want you to be around him.' I nodded. 'I understand that I can't control you but I swear to god if I find out that he's hurt you in any way I'll fucking kill him you understand me? I'm not professing love for you, because I don't see you like that, you're like an innocent little brother to me, to most of the guys and we won't stand for someone to come and hurt you, no matter if you used to know them or not. So if he hurts you, all you have to do is tell me.' I nodded. 'But, other than that seeing as you've become attached to him I will try and behave better.'
'Thank you.' He grunted and stood up.
'I'm serious, you need to tell me or one of the guys but tell someone if he does something to you, something you don't want or like.' I nodded and he clapped his hand down on my left shoulder and it took everything I had not to wince in pain.
Jaxon headed out and I walked back over to Lincoln who was glaring daggers.
'What did you talk about? Why did he touch you?' The girl at the front desk wasn't looking so I tucked my hands underneath his shirt and he looked down at me surprised. My fingertips running over the hard defined muscle that shaped a nice V line on his waist.
'He told me that he cares about me, that he doesn't love me like that but I'm like a brother to him and our friends and that he will kill you if you hurt me.'
'It's a bit late.' He mumbled, his fingers gliding over my shoulder gently. Mr Mathews walked out and we pulled our hands away from each other. Mr Mathews was nice, he was tall with sandy blonde hair and grey eyes, Lincoln was a lot like him, tall well built with the sandy blonde hair.
'Alright you two, I really don't want to have to be called down here again for something like this.'
'Sorry.' Lincoln muttered not making eye contact but his dad just ran his hand through his hair.
'It's alright, I know that boy provoked you by asking about your eyes.' Lincoln flinched and looked away again.
'It's okay, you know. To talk about it.'
'I don't want to talk about it. You make me go to those stupid therapy sessions so I don't have to talk about it out here.' Mr Mathews looked a little sad but ran his hand through Lincoln's hair once more before saying goodbyes and leaving. We headed out into the hall and Lincoln walked with me to the gym quietly. 'Sorry.' He said as we stood outside the gym.
'It's okay. There are things you don't want to talk about and there are things I don't want to talk about, maybe one day we'll talk about them, but not just now.' He looked down at me for a long time.
'Maybe one day.' He nodded before taking a deep breath and looking around. 'I'll take you home today.' He walked off and I headed into the gym, I talked to coach about what happened and why I was late. He told me not to bother getting changed and I just sat down watching as they played basketball. The bell rang and I headed out, Lincoln waiting outside the gym for me. We walked quietly to his car, there was chatter in the halls about what happened at lunch.
