Emelia clicked the light on as a male voice sounded from under her desk. "This person you said would help better be worth it." He complained standing up from under the desk and locking eyes with you.

You felt your heart stop.

It was as if time stopped, your eyes locked with his and you both froze staring at each other. Even the scientist stopped and just watched. You felt your heart beating rapidly in your chest, after not seeing him for so long a small part of your doubted he was even here. That Teresa had made it all up to keep you from attacking her or the guards. Seeing him in front of you made you think your eyes were playing a trick on you, you'd missed him so much you were just imagining him.

"Am I worth it?" You joked smiling slightly.

Without a word, he vaulted over the desk sending pens flying in all directions and hugged you. You held him tightly, feeling your entire body relax as his arms wrapped around you. Feeling him hold you and you holding him assured you that you weren't imagining him, he was really here. Alive.

"You're worth everything," he whispered his forehead resting on your shoulder as you buried yours into his chest.

You'd had nightmares, been shot, fallen off a floating carriage, been beaten, tortured in their machine and more just to see him again and it was worth more than all the cures in the world. All the anxiety and worry that'd been building up in your over the past months had been evaporated in just a few seconds of holding him.

"I'm so glad to see you," you told him feeling your eyes watering as your emotions started to overwhelm you.

"Me too," he spoke softly letting you go but gripping your shoulders, "What happened to you? Why are you here?"

Emelia locked her office door again and checked through the blinds to make sure no one had followed you.

"We tried to rescue you, but I got shot and fell off the carriage. I thought they got you until bitch face told me they picked up the wrong carriage," you explained briefly, "I tried to get them to let me see you if I told them a few details of Mary's cure but I think they were going to just kill me instead."

You used this time to take in his appearance, he looked as exhausted as you felt, his normally large biceps looked smaller than last time you'd seen him, his face was pale and his cheeks bones were slightly more visible than you last remembered. It was clear that the extraction method was being used on him vigorously. But none of that changed how happy you were to see him, for the first time since you and S/n were together, you felt yourself brimming with happiness. "What happened to you?"

"They use that extraction method on me day in, day out. They know I hated the Maze and the Grievers so they use that against me. Did they make you do it?"

"Not a lot," you shook your head speaking quickly so you could get all your words out, "Their simulation didn't make me scared, it just made me angry and apparently that doesn't work for their cure."

"Speaking of the cure," Emelia made herself known again, "Were you telling the truth in the meeting?"

"Why should I tell you?" You retorted standing close to Minho.

His hand slipped into yours and he nodded to you, "You can trust her. She's been helping me since I arrived here." You surveyed her young face, she couldn't have been much older than 25. Jet black hair was pulled in a messy bun and there was a look of youthful hope in her eyes.

"I worked with Mary on the cure, we were so close. It's the enzymes in the blood that made her version of the cure but it only works with specific immunes. They won't listen to me here so I'm developing it on my own. Who's blood was it she used to make the cure?"
