LEES POV
So, here I am, in a cellar, paying the price for someone to love me. Or at least like me. None of which are going as planned. I don't really know how long I'm stuck in here. I guess for however long until they find a fitting explanation as to why or how I did what I did. I haven't heard from my "secret supplier" since the first time they dropped the stuff. I stand up and pace around the cellar, going through the possible outcomes.
1. Viola will hate me if Todd never wakes up
2.Todd will never wake up
3.Todd will wake up
4.Ben and Todd will kill me for what I did
5.The "secret supplier" doesn't get caught
There are a lot more outcomes, all of which aren't in my favor. But what I'm focused on right now is the "secret supplier". I take the note out that was left with the chemicals two months ago. It said "Use with care and apply generously. -H" I haven't figured out what H stands for yet. To get myself busy I think of what H stands for. Hiemann? No. Hell? A little too dark. Help? Maybe. Havoc? Bingo. I remember hearing Mistress Coyle one day say to me, "What will this war bring us? Havoc." So that's settled. H is Havoc but who is H. I don't t think about it because all of the sudden I hear something slide under the cellar door. I feel for it, it's an envelope. On the face of the envelope it says to me, This time, don't get caught -H. I feel on the inside, but no vials. Nothing but a small strip of adhesive paper. And another note. Stick on skin for effect. (Not yours). I know what the envelope says because somehow, it communicates with me through Noise. Like it is transmitting a message from someone else to me. Hearing this makes me angry. This supplier has put me through all of this, so why should I do what he says? I rip up the adhesive. and throw it in the corner of the cellar.
About two hours pass, I think, until someone opens my door. I expected to hear a nurse or doctor or soldier, coming to tell me what price I have to pay for what I've done. I stand up to get a better look in the dark cellar. Then I see in the Noise of the figure, that it is a man... someone I know, but their Noise is covered, and grey. But I can vaguely tell this person has unfinished business with me and that I won't be getting my punishment from the nurses or soldiers anytime soon. Then I hear shoes shuffeling on the pavement floor. Then everything goes black.
