CHAPTER 16

"I found it!"

All eyes turned to Taehyung, who was peering down at what appeared to be nothing more than dirt, leaves, sticks, and a large chunk of rock that seemed to have once been apart of the very mountain itself, he reached down, feeling around the base of the boulder until he found the latch and began to lift a perfectly camouflaged hatch, revealing stone steps leading further into the darkness within.

Jungkook sat in silence, straining his ears for any sound of movement. They were so close...so close. Suddenly the sound of faint footsteps reached his ears, a sound that made him hopeful his hyungs found him, and cautious it was Changmins return.

Erring on the side of caution, Jungkook timidly called out, "S-Sir?"

Jungkooks eyes widened at the man who stepped into the room from the surrounding shadows.

Taehyungs eye's widened at the sight before him. Jungkook sat upon what appeared to be a nest of pillows that you'd expect to see the emperors and empresses of old lay upon, in a golden gown that billowed around him.

'Oh my God... he's beautiful...'

"Hyung!"

The spell upon Taehyung was instantly broken at the boys call. It only lasted as few seconds, but to Tae, it seemed as if time stopped. 'Damn it Taehyung, now isn't the time!'

He hurried over to the younger and quickly knelt before him, "Are you okay," he asked as he removed a small lock picking kit from his inner coat pocket, opening and sitting it upon the floor.

"I'm fine hyung, I'm just glad you're here now," The slight hitch in Jungkooks voice had Tae looking up from his tools and into the youngers eyes, "I was so afraid you wouldn't find me."

Tae gently took both of Jungkooks gloved hands into his own, "I will always find you."

They shared a soft look and soft smile for a moment before Tae immediately set to work attempting to free Jungkook from the shackles around his wrists.

"Tae, what's going on down there, everything okay?"

"Everything is fine hyung, I've found Jungkook and am in the process of trying to get these damn shackles off, the lack of lightning is making it more difficult."

"Jin hyung is heading down to give you a light, we're on a time limit, we gotta move."

"Got it."

Seconds later, a bright beam of light cut through the darkness.

"Jin hyung!" Jungkook exclaimed.

"Kookie!" Jin crouched before his maknae, "Are you okay, are you hurt?"

Jungkook shook his head, "No hyung, I'm fine."

Jin nodded before angling his flashlight to give Tae a better view of the lock.

"Changmin?" Jungkook asked.

"On his way as we speak, we gotta hurry."

"I almost got it." Tae muttered, when suddenly the flashlight fell to the ground as Jin was yanked back into the shadows.
