That small moment of surprise at the gun clicking from an empty chamber was all it took for Changmin to be pinned down, Jungkook grabbing at the slackened wrist, pulling it harshly from his neck, stepping out of Changmin's hold while twisting the wrist, causing the blade to fall from his hand before twisting and yanking Changmin's arm behind his back, kicking the back of the man's knees, causing him to fall forward upon them.

Changmin dropped the gun as he felt himself fall forward, using his, now free hand, to catch himself.

Jin stepped forward, squatting down to collect his unloaded weapon, and return it to it's holster, before straightening to his full height, as he handed Jungkook his cuffs, before looking back at Changmin, who was quietly repeating, "I'm a man", and "I'm not disgusting", in between sobs. Jin wished he didn't have to resort to such tactics, but he was left with no other choice. Changmin never would've given himself and Jungkook up willingly, though that would've been the best outcome, the worst, and likely most probable outcome, was Changmin, knowing he has no escape, would've killed Jungkook before ultimately killing himself.

This was the only option left to him, and he hated it.

Jin led a sedate Changmin top side, Jungkook following close behind, and handed him off to Hoseok and Jimin, who led him away to the back of the patrol car awaiting him.

The moment Changmin was out of ear shot Namjoon approached the two agents, Taehyung at his side. "I've informed Yoongi and detectives Park and Lee so Changmin's arrest, they're making their way back now to meet up with Jimin and Hoseok. We've also got a forensics team in route to collect what evidence they can before we turn the location over to the Major here, as it's an old military bunker, and as such, is military property," Namjoon then addressed Jungkook directly, "Taehyung will escort you back to the house so can change, I'm sure you want outta that dress."

Jungkook nodded, "Yes please, especially before Jimin hyung can snag a picture or video of me wearing the damn thing."

A chuckle escaped his hyungs lips. Taehyung made an extravagant bow toward the younger, "Shall we your highness," he asked, offering his arm in escort. Jungkook merely scrunched his nose up at the light teasing and started walking away, Taehyung's chuckle following after him.

The Major spoke to them briefly, before heading back to base to brief his superior's of the current situation, leaving a small group of his men to guard the bunker and aid the forensics team when they arrived. Both agents Kim's thank him for his help as the man left with his remaining men. As the Major's back retreated, Namjoon looked over to his hyung and team profiler, "Are you gonna be okay?"

"You heard?" Jin said softly.

Namjoon nodded, "We all did," he said softly, referring to the other members of their team as he gently tapped his ear, indicating they heard everything through their earpieces.

"Repeating the very words my father yelled so cruelly at me all those years ago, just... for a moment, I was back in that restaurant..." Jin sighed and shook his head of the heartbreaking memories between himself and his father before his death, "I'll be okay, I just never thought I'd ever repeat those words to anyone else."

Namjoon placed a hand on Jin's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze in comfort. He remembered that night from years ago, he was there with Jin that fateful night, their first date. They weren't aware Mr. Kim was also there with his wife for a business dinner. He must've seen them holding hands or the chaste kiss they shared together, before storming to their table and began verbally attacking his son, yelling all manner of homophobic slurs, degrading and insulting Jin in front of the entire restaurant, which had gone completely silent, publicly humiliating him, before outright disowning him, leaving a shocked and heartbroken Jin behind.

That was the night Jin lost his family.

They never spoke to him again, though it wasn't from lack of trying on Jins end. When his father died years later, he had to hear of it on the news covering the famed CEO's death.

He had tried to reach out to his mother and other family members, but he was blocked from all contact with them. He knew when and where the funeral was to take place, again, due to media coverage, but the moment he arrived, he was told to leave, as his father wouldn't want him there. Namjoon remembered how Jin cried that day, mourning his father passing, and his family's continued rejection.

The words Jin shouted at Changmin were almost word for word to some of what his father once told him.

Namjoon knew it pained his hyung to recall them, to attack another with those hateful words, no matter if they weren't meant.

Jin took a deep breath, he wanted to cry, but he didn't have the luxury to do so, at least, not yet, "I'm fine. Let's go, we have a case to complete."

Namjoon, Jin, Taehyung, and Jungkook arrived at the station's meeting room at the same time. Jimin, Yoongi, and Hoseok were already there, having arrived with Changmin.

Detectives Lee entered the room moments later, "Changmin is now sitting in a holding cell, and Park is debriefing the Chief as we speak."

"Has Changmin said anything?"

Lee shook her head, "Not a word, not even to lawyer up."

"Have you heard from forensics?"

"Too soon, but we expect to hear from them within the next hour."

As Lee finished her words, the door opened, admitting detective Park, "Chief wants us to notify the families of the arrest before we go public with the news."

"I'll get on that now, no sense making them wake longer than they already have," she turned to the agents, extending her hand to each one for a handshake, thanking each for their help with the case, before heading to her desk to bring some much needed closure to the victims families.

"There's nothing left to do but finalize the details and paperwork, and get it to the DA for trial," he, like his partner before him, extended his hand out for a handshake, "Thanks for the assist agents."

"No problem detective, we were happy to help." Namjoon replied as he shook the detectives hand, bowing respectfully at the older senior detective.

"I'm glad you made it out unharmed agent Jeon, not sure we could've made this arrest without you." Park said sincerely as he shook the younger's hand.

"Thank you," Jungkook gave a small, sincere smile at the man's gratitude and praise, bowing respectfully as he did so, "I've also put my official statement on your desk," he added, earning a nod of acknowledgment from the detective.

"Well, time to close this case up, thanks again gentlemen, it was a pleasure working with you."

Again, I'm sorry for the whole 19-19 thing, I was tired when I posted the chapter, and didn't realize I titled it wrong. I can't change it, I tried. I'm also editing for corrections throughout the story as I post so sorry for any inconveniences that caused as well.

The final chapter will be up soon🙏, hopefully. I hope you enjoyed the story, let me know if it's worthy enough to be a series or if it's better as a stand alone.
