SURPRISE!" Ms. Grenada yells.
"A school?" A Capella asks.
"Not just any school." I say.

"Middle Brooke."
After last years catastrophe, with aliens and other shocking surprises...
It was 7:42, about twenty minutes until the school dance started. I felt nervous for some reason. So little time, and wildcard hadn't asked me yet. I felt dreadful, knowing that it wasn't gonna happen. I was laying on my bed when all of a sudden, I hear a knock on my door. "Come in." I mourn. A Capella instantly enters my bedroom as she gasps. "Y/n!" She exclaims.
"Why aren't you in your dress yet?" But I just shrug. "Its literally only 20 minutes until the school dance is starting! Come on!" She then noticed that I wasn't feeling well, so she instantly sat by me on my bed. "What's wrong?" She asks. I slowly look at her. "You know how I wanted wild to ask me?" I ask.
She nods her head and hums in response. "As you said, it's literally only 20 minutes until the dance started, and he still hasn't asked me yet. I mean, I get that we're not dating yet, and he probably still thinks that we're just "really close best friends." I state, while quoting "really close best friends." with my fingers.
"I don't know, but I just don't think that we're happening." She sighs and immediately puts her hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, it's ok. Who cares about a stupid boy anyway. It's 15 minutes till the school dance and facemaker still hasn't asked me out." She scoffs. I start to get confused, since I thought that she didn't actually like him. "But, I thought you didn't like him." I tease. As I spoke, her eyes suddenly widen, but she instantly burst out.
"Ok but, aren't we supposed to talk about your boy problems?" She mocks. We both start to laugh. After the laughter stopped filling the room, I finally spoke up. "You know what A Capella? You're right. Who cares about him? I do have you and the other girls."
I instantly start to smile at A Capella's encouraging words. "Thanks A Capella." I say. "I'll be out in a minute." She starts to smile as well, and exits my bedroom. I quickly took a deep breath to control myself, and I start getting changed into my dress.

After I put on my dress, I quickly went to my desk and opened my drawer. Inside, was a little jewelry box in the corner. It was a gift my dad bought me on my 13th birthday, before he died last year. I instantly smiled and opened the box. Inside the box was a beautiful silver moon necklace. I picked it up with my hands, and slowly walked to the mirror to put it on. The moon necklace shimmered, as I stood in front of the mirror.
I look diagonally towards my wall, to see through my window. The moon was shining brightly as it made my necklace sparkle. Sometimes I forget that my dad isn't here with me, so I just pretend that he's on the moon, since he used to be an astronaut before he became a Heroic. I just think that he's still on a mission.
"I hope you're proud of me dad." I mutter to myself. I was about to cry, but I instantly stop myself, since today was supposed to be a good day. A great day. As I exit my bedroom, I suddenly see wildcard in front of my bedroom, holding a box of chocolates and flowers.
