Y/N POV
Y/N: "A-Anyway, L-let's start recording," you said awkwardly, trying your best to stay on task. Although these girls were such a fun group to have a conversation with, you needed to focus on the task at hand. The job you were sent here for was to make the studio version of "I am", and that's what you need to do if you wanted to complete your job. "So who's up first?" you asked, wondering who got the intro of the song.
As you gazed across the room, you watched as Yena smirked colorfully, her eyes widening with happiness.
Yena: "Me!" she said, raising her hand energetically, basically bouncing up and down.
Oh, Yena had the intro? During the song's production, when writing the intro, you were imagining the little duckling singing that specific portion of the music. For her to be actually performing that part, it feels as if it was destined.
Y/N: "Oh, okay..." you said, letting her go inside the booth. She walks inside her booth with a bright smile with a music sheet and pencil in hand.
The music sheet she brought with her told her all the song's notes, and since Yena was a great musician, she knew how to read it properly. The pencil was there so she could circle the problems she had and then focus on what she needed to improve.
To see Yena, the girl who would usually be lazy around during individual practice, trying so hard really put away your worries about her debut. She was doing all one could and working her way up, even if she was already popular among the trainees.
Y/N: "We will start whenever you are ready," you said, her responding with a nod. After warming up with some vocal exercises, she gives you an "Okay" hand gesture, signaling she was ready.
You turned on the instrumental towards the beginning and waited for her to sing her part. You watched as she took a small breath and started.
Yena: "shilsutuseongi
nunmureun geurido manni
mweodeun da jalhal suneun eopji" she sang, leaving you open-mouthed. You were surprised about her sudden change in her singing style.
Although she had a new way of singing compared to her times as a trainee, it sounded great, leaving you taken back. Not only did she polish her own color when it came to music, the way she sang the music actually fits better than what you had initially planned out.
She continues to sing, amazing you further. After going all through her own parts, she eventually finishes and steps out of the booth, smiling from her official recording.
Y/N: "Good Job, Yena," you said to the girl, not really sure what to say since her exponential improvement made you at a loss for words. You watched as her smile turned into a snarky grin, Yena probably knowing she did a good job.
Yena: "Of course, Y/N, I always sound great," she boldly claims, you giving a small chuckle to her response. You gave her a little pat on the head, something you would do to her often as a trainee. You begin to slightly mess up her hair as you ruffle your finger through it.
