Y/N POV
The time for your final evaluation had come, and you were very worried about performing. Today, you would be performing Spring day, and you were frightened about the whole performance.
You weren't afraid of making it to the CEO showcase since you guys had received an "A" rank in almost every assessment. But instead, you were scared of looking like a fool in front of all the trainers at Yuehua. You didn't want all your difficult work to look like nothing, but you wanted to shine on the stage instead. You wanted to shine brighter than any star...
You and the rest of the gang have been practicing non-stop for this one performance. You could confidently say that you could perform the entirety of the song... All except your drop on the floor.
Even with all the practicing you did, like repeating that specific part multiple times a day, you couldn't find a way to minimize the damage done to your leg or any workaround to that problem. There was no trick around it... All you could do was to perform in distress... Although you prepare that one particular part numerous times, your leg can only take so much before giving out.
You would constantly repeat that section until your leg gave out, making you fall to the floor. Although you knew you were overworking yourself, you didn't care... This could be the last time you perform in front of the trainers, and you definitely had to end your journey at Yuehua with a good note.
You couldn't give up, and you had to nail this part, especially with your little cheerleaders encouraging you. Yena, Yiren, and Sihyeon have been cheering you on ever since you told them about your leg injury, and it'll be a waste if you gave up now.
As you remain backstage, you stand there, your leg shaking uncontrollably, slightly nervous about what would happen on stage. As you wait for your group to be called to be evaluated, you feel someone behind you.
A warm feeling then surrounded you, a sense that could cause all your worries to ease away. With their small hands wrapping around your waist, they pulled you in closer, moving them nearer to their heart.
Even if the person didn't say a thing, you knew who it was. This was definitely Yena... The little duckling was giving you a small, gentle back hug. You were a little surprised by a sudden embrace, but then you used your free hand to pat her on the head as she held you.
She nuzzles her face into your neck, causing you to feel somewhat ticklish. Your face reddens, and you begin to freak out about how close she was. You tried to lightly push her off until she said something.
Yena: "You feeling okay, Y/N?" she said, knowing that you were scared of performing. "Feeling a bit nervous, huh?" As she said that you could help but think she was able to read your mind.
Y/N: "Hehe... How did you know, you dumb duck?" you said as you gave a little chuckle.
Yena: "It's because I know you better than anyone else," she said with a smirk on her face.
Yena knew a great deal about you. You'd think she'd be the kind of person who would doze off a lot, not listening to anything you said to her. But in reality, she ingrained everything you spoke and she cared so much about our friendship.
