even if they were dating, some nights both of them had their own thing to do like school work or something that need their full attention. tonight being one of those nights, mirio was up working on an assignment at his desk, a small lamp illuminating the top of desk so he can work since he turned all the other lights off. though his attention span wasn't the best at night so he found himself staring off into space with a pencil balanced over his upper lip just for the small amusement. his cheek rested on the palm of his hand for a couple of minutes before a funny thought came to mind, out of instinct he stood up from his chair and knocked on the wall connecting his room to Tamaki's dorm loud enough just for the other to hear.
it was pretty late so the last thing he wanted to do was wake up his other classmates, as far as he knew Tamaki had said he'd be up late studying for an up coming exam. but the jittery boy didn't mind the blonde occasionally popping in to say something, whether it be something important or just a dumb thought, although it did startle him at time which mirio found kinda cute. "hey Tamaki! is it okay if I pass through? yeah? i just thought of something funny" he asked in a semi loud whisper while rapidly knocking on the wall. there wasn't any response to Mirio's attempt to get the others attention after a while. now the normal assumption would've been that Tamaki was probably asleep so that's why he didn't answer, buuuut mirio didn't think about that. better said he didn't think about it at all, so he just phased his head right through the connecting wall without a second thought.
though once he opened his mouth to possibly get Tamaki's attention, he was surprised to see Tamaki sprawled out on his bed fast asleep. his blanket was practically kicked off past his knees while an opened study guide laid face down by his hip with his hand on top of it almost like he fell asleep mid read, and papers that looked to be mostly finished assignment's spilled on the floor that probably fell off from the boys sleepy movements. 'he really cant stay up late....cute.." mirio thought with a warm smile at the sight in front of him. Tamaki always tried to make the effort in staying up late to study, sometimes with mirio or on his own but at some point he'd always knocked right out cold in no time. guess tonight was no different, but hey at least he tried. mirio kinda wished he could take a picture of how cute Tamaki looked in his sleep, his phone wouldn't phase through so that's a shame. he phased his arm through to pull the lavender colored blanket up enough to tuck Tamaki in so he wouldn't catch a cold then folded the end of the page on the study guide before closing it. Tamaki curled up into a ball once he felt himself being tucked in with a sleepy smile on his face, mirio could swear his heart skipped a beat from cuteness for a moment.
gently running his fingers through Tamaki's soft messy hair with a "sleep well my bunny" and a kiss on the forehead as one final gesture he pulled himself back into his dorm as his quirk turned off, his face was a little pink while he couldn't help but smile. little things like this reminded him how much he loved Tamaki.
