(a/n) Ok so ive been really into klance lately, and that's why I wrote this. (Plus I wrote this a school, because school is boring. Clearly) sorry if lance is your favorite character!
no one's POV
Keith looked around the castle to find lance, when he heard Shiro and Allura's voice. they were talking about a dangerous one man mission, and who would be taking it. Keith decided to ignore the conversation because he already knew that he would be the one to take the mission, since he was usually chosen to do solo missions. little did he know that he was correct for only a few minutes, because lance was walking straight into Allura and Shiro's conversation, with his on opinion on the matter.
lance's POV
I bumped into Shiro and Allura in the hallway," hey guys! whatcha talking about?" I asked with a smile, but I didn't expect a reply because most likely they would keep it to themselves. they looked at each other with concerned expressions" should we tell him?" Allura asked Shiro nervously, Shiro nodded with a sigh " we have to if it involves Keith." a wave of worry hit me," what's this about Keith?" I questioned sternly. there was a moment of silence before Allura spoke up "we recived a mission for our best paladin..... but its a dangerous mission, almost life or death dangerous."
"what other kind of dangerous is their", Shiro scoffed under his breath. i cleched my fists and looked down,'I can't let keith go on that mission' i thought, "i'll take the mission in keiths place" i said declared finally. Shiro shook his head," like allura said its too dangerous . theres a high chance that you won't make it back alive." he tried to reason with me but I made up y mind." i dont care! i wont let keith die for the sake of the mission! i promise that i'll come back alive!" I exclaimed . Allura hesitated before nodding" alright lance, you'll be taking the mission. you're departure will be tomorow morning." she sighed but still had traces of worry in her voice, and with that they both turned around and walked away.
now that i thought about what just happened, i started to tremble uncontrollably. "i might die tomorrow.......i might never see keith again" i slapped myself to stop these dark thoughts.
~later at night in Keith' s room~
keith's POV
after looking for 2 hours, I couldn't find lance anywhere, I guess he's probably playing some video games with pidge. (I read somewhere that lance likes playing retro video games) then I heard a knock on my door, I reached over to the control panel on the wall to open the door. the door slid open and it was lance. I narrowed my eye's and crossed my arms," where were you I spent 2 hours looking for you?" but when I saw lances face, I softened my expression and wrapped my arms around him. "hey what's wrong?" I asked, rubbing his back gently; he's trembling a lot.
" nothing's wrong, I just had a nightmare" he said a bit muffled, "can I sleep here tonight? " I laid him down and began to stroke his hair gently," of course, you can." I replied "you're already here anyway" I added quickly. he punched me playfully," thanks. good night Keith. I love you" he said dozing off. I closed my eyes as sleep began to creep up on me," I love you too lance."
he fell asleep quicker than I thought, but I had to wonder "what lance was actually so upset about? " then I fell asleep before I could think about it any further.
~the next morning~
I moved my hand over the empty space next to me, it was cold. Lance must have gotten up already . I sat up as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, yawning. my hands pushed me up from my bed and I walked out of my bedroom into the hallway, I noticed that everyone was awake and in the lounge area with worried and concerned expressions. (do they have a lounge area? eh I'm too lazy to found out) pidge was typing vigorously on her laptop with her helmet on and hunk was crouched over the couch watching pidge type, while Allura was being comforted by Shiro for some reason." hey what's going on?, where's lance?" I asked monotoned. pidge removed her helmet and looked at me with the most serious look I've ever seen her make," we lost communication with lance and his lion."
my heart dropped," what do you mean you lost communication with lance, where the hell is he!" I yelled. Everyone looked at me with wide eyes and confused faces then shiro spoke up," keith you dont know where lance is? He didn't tell you?" I crossed my arms angrily," obviously! Now where the hell is he?!" I yelled again. Pidge looked up at me shocked while hunk made calming gestures for me to calm down. I took a deep breath and was about to ask again when allura spoke up," he went on a mission that was sent to us, originally we were going to send you to complete the mission" then shiro spoke up too " but lance insisted that he take on the mission in your place."
before I could retort back, pidge gasped and yelled to us" guys! who cares about the little details. I found the blue lion's coordinates, we need to go and help lance. he's surrounded by prince lotor's army." I didn't wait another minute, I ran past Shiro and Allura and ran to the red lion. ( I didn't know which lion to put so I just chose the original) red roared awake and I left the docking bay ( is that's what its called?) then I called pidge over the intercom," pidge what are the blue lions coordinates?" all that I could hear were static noises coming from the intercom, "damnit! pidge can you hear me?!" I yelled
" k-kei.......th...........your breaking up...." pidge said through the static then it turn off. "god damnit!" I hissed then I can hear laser fire coming from my right side. that's when I saw the blue lion trying to retreat but lotor's army is making it really difficult," lance! im gonna save, you no matter what!" I yelled as I rushed into battle to save lance....... to save the person I love so much.
