Rani drove her dad's barely used Tesla to the movies. She could have taken a horse, but she thought it would look better arriving in style with a Tesla. When she pulled up, she found a parking spot and got out. She walked up to the building, looking around for Frey when a voice behind her nearly scared the daylights out of her.
"Hey."
"Holy-" She cut herself off as she saw who it was. "Frey! You should know by now that sneaking up behind people freaks them out, a bunch."
"That's what makes it fun."
Rani shook her head. "One day, it'll come back to haunt you."
He shrugged. "Maybe it will, or maybe it won't. Anyways, you look stunning tonight."
She blushed. "Thanks, you too."
Frey stuck his hands in his black pants, which complimented his purple sweater with its white stripes down the sleeves.
"Uh, I guess we should go in?" He asked, finally after a moment.
"Yeah, unless you want to miss that movie." Rani said jokingly.
"Haha." He said dryly, then opened the door for her. Rani nodded a thanks as she walked into the building. Frey closed the door behind them and together they went up to the counter to buy some tickets.
"That'll be $21.81. Enjoy your movie." He said as he slid the tickets, and the candy under the plastic windshield that separated the buyer from the seller.
"Thank you, and have a good day." Frey replied as he got the tickets and the pack of M&M's, and handed them to Rani.
"I'll go get the popcorn." He said, heading to the next window to pick up the bucket of popcorn. Rani waited for him patiently, and soon he was walking, slowly, over with a bucket of popcorn that looked way too close to overflowing. She grabbed a few pieces and popped them into her mouth. They just made it to the theater when the lights started dimming, and the movie was just starting. About halfway through the movie, something seemed off. She tapped Frey on the shoulder and whispered.
"Is it just me or is there something off about this place?"
Frey looked around. "No, relax, it's probably just the movie." He put his hand over hers for reasurement.
Rani sighed, still on edge, and tried to concentrate on the movie.
"I need to go to the restroom," she said after a few minutes, still not able to shake the feeling that she was being watched.
"Alright." Frey said, pecking Rani on the lips, his face half lit in the brightness of the screen. She smiled, got up and headed out of the theater room. A black cloak flashed at the corner of her vision, she whipped her head around trying to get a better glance, but the figure had already disappeared behind a corner.
I wonder if it's the same person that was chasing me on the way home from school. She thought, wondering if he or she had a reason for stalking her.
