Chapter 42

Naomi's POV

I drove myself to Leo's house, changed my clothes into a sweatshirt, some sweats, and my running shoes. I grabbed my phone, AirPods, and headed to the door, leaving a note for Leo if I don't come down from my run.

I was on the beach seeing that the sky was getting cloudy but not rain clouds yet, I put on my AirPods, letting the music take over my body as I started to run.

The pain I feel is killing me, the way I saw Cole was just pain, but the way I saw Leo made me feel like I was underwater, unable to reach the surface, not to get a single breath of oxygen in my lungs. I felt as if I was in the darkest underwater just deadening slowly because someone I love was angry and took their anger out on someone close to me. Showing me the monster that was hidden underneath.

I know it's hard for him to say how he feels without feeling weak but all I want is to know, I want him to talk to me, tell me things. When in a relationship, it's sometimes best to tell your feelings to each other because if not, your love for each other will feel fake and end up broken. My mom told me that when I caught her and my father argued.

Because even in a perfect marriage there are always problems on the way.

Leonardo's POV

After winning the fight, Cole was taken to the hospital with two broken ribs and a black eye. I walk over to the boys to see that Naomi isn't with them, "Where's Naomi and Franco," I asked, "She left during the fight, I think she went home and Frank disappeared," Luca said, "Okay," I said.

"Leo, what happened in the ring was a little bit extreme," Nicolo said

"What do you mean 'extreme',"

"You literally broke the dude's ribs and gave him a nasty black eye because you were jealous," he said,  Marcello agree with him, "He should have watched his mouth but I'm sorry that my anger got the best of me," I told them, "You don't need to apologize to us. You need to talk to Naomi," he told me as we head to our car.

After talking with the boys, I skipped going to the after-party and went home.

When I got there, I didn't see Naomi anywhere in the house and that made me worry but then I saw a note on the bed from Naomi,

The note:

Leo,

I went on a run. I'll be back soon
From Naomi

Why would she go on a run when it's about to rain in a few minutes. I took a shower and waited for her to come back home.

Naomi's POV

"You okay sis," I stopped run to see Franco, "How did know I was here," I said going over to him. "You're my sister and best friend, I know you well enough to know that beach is your safe space. I swear every time you got into it with dad or in trouble back home, you'll be here." He spoke sitting on the sandy ground. "It reminds me of home and mom," I said sitting next to him, as I saw his body tense up when I mentioned our mom.

"How so," he asked, "The year, she got sick she'll go take day to day visits to the beach. Sometimes I would come with her and she would say the craziest thing even if it was her medicine or her," I laugh as Franco looked at the waves. "She would say that when she dies that she wanted to be in the ocean when it happens. She told me that the ocean was her first love and that she wanted to be with her first love in her final moments," I said as tears brush across my cheek but Franco wiped them away. "Mom was really a beautiful person," he said as I saw his glossy eyes.

We sat there, enduring the wind howling with the stormy clouds forming.

When I got inside the house, my hair was wet  making a path of water on the floor behind me.

I took my shoes off, walked into the bedroom to see Leonardo sitting on the end of the bed waiting for me with his head down, his leg bouncing up and down as I look at him. I saw that his knuckles were red bruised a bit yet barely. I walk passed him causing him to lift his head looking at me.

"Where were you," he asked

"I want for a run," I told him

"A run where Naomi"

"It doesn't matter, Leonardo "

"It matters,"

" yeah it doesn't," I said, going to the dresser to get some underwear and my nightgown as Leo follows me as I walk around the room to get my things. "First you leave the fight, give me attitude for no reason and don't pick up the phone," he said, still following me, "Oh Leo, I do have a reasons," I told him, throwing my clothes on the bathroom counter, facing him, "What happened in the ring, Leonardo," I asked him, "What do you mean, 'what happened," He said, mocking me.

"I mean tell me why the boy that hugs me and cares for me every day and night was a monster in the ring," I asked him, "Not a monster Naomi," he said low under his breath, "You were one today, so answer my question," I yelled.

"I did it because I was pissed. Actually, I was more than pissed, I wanted to kill Cole for just being near you or any men in fact. I showed my anger and the monster in me because I'm afraid of you leaving me or dying in my arms.  You know for fact that I'm extremely possessive of you, you can call me any name you want I'll still love you," he said, walking closer to me but I backed away from him as he stopped moving. "You almost killed him," I told him, looking at the floor.

"Naomi-" he said as I closed the door in his face. I took a shower and got ready for bed. When I got out of the bathroom, I saw Leo on his phone, in the bed wearing his boxers, I put on my Bonnet and crawled into bed, letting my back face him as I went to sleep.

Middle of the night...

I was sleeping peacefully but Leo was trying to wrap his arms around me and I didn't feel like being touched by him right now so I push him away from me, "Please Naomi," he begged , trying to touch me again, "I'm going to get some water," I said, getting out on the bed heading to the kitchen.

Leonardo's POV

It was like two in the morning and I was dying to hold Naomi in my arms as she sleeps but she wouldn't let me touch her, she just walked away from me and went to the kitchen.

I got up and went to the kitchen to see her drinking her water, trying not to make eye contact with me. I took a seat on one of the stools at the island in the center of the kitchen, "I want you to know that I'll never hurt you in anyway, and I'm sorry that I didn't tell you how I felt and hope you forgive me, my love. Yes I was a monster so I'll try to control my anger," I told her because it's true. I hate that she feels like this.

Naomi's POV

When Leo came into the kitchen to talk to me, I can tell that what he said was true and deep down in his heart, "I forgive you and you aren't a monster," I said, walking over to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"No Naomi, it can't be that easy, you have to give me some type of punishment," he said, resting his hands on my waist, "Umm okay, We can't have sex for five days," I told him, "Five days, that's too long, baby," he pouted.

"Well, You shouldn't have broken two ribs of Cole's," I told him, "Okay,but-" he said as I interrupted him, "No buts,good night," I said to him, going back to bed.

As I was asleep, Leo wrapped his arms around me. I missed his warmest today, "Good night," I told him.
