Chapter 15 | Excitment and Guilt

Thalia was in special defence training while Lila sat in the corner colouring She was punching a bag whilst picturing snow's face on it she hadn't noticed but Gale and Finnick had walked in watching her, Thalia gave on last punch making the bag fly and hit the wall splitting sand pouring over the floor "Nice punch princess" Gale clapped her shoulder Finnick wrapped a protective arm around her waist glaring at Gale "don't call her that" Finnick growled she smirked as Gale rolled his eyes and  walked over to the crossbow station "I'm guessing you didn't just come here to stare at me" Finnick chuckled spinning her round to face him "coin said we could go out for an hour I was wondering if you'd want to come?" Finnick caressed her cheek "I'd love to" she grabbed his hand and walked over to the elevator to take them up to the surface once they reached the surface Thalia breathed in the familiar scent of wet grass beneath their feet and the sound of the birds chirping in the distance "it's beautiful" she was gazing up at the sky "it really is" he wasn't paying any attention to the surroundings but his eyes fixed on Thalia his gaze traced from her naturally curly sliver hair to her army boots she noticed this and laughed "you really are a flirt Finnick Odair" he snaked his arm round her waist kissing softly. They both sat on the grass Thalia sat next to him she could feel his warm breath on her neck as he whispered something in her ear making her gasp "what" she looked into his sea green eyes "Marry me " he looked down at her "YES" She jumped at him wrapping her legs around his waist kissing him deeply he didn't pull away but kissed her back enjoying the feeling of her lips on his they stayed like this for another few minutes foreheads resting against each other while a silence hung in the air not the awkward kind but the peaceful kind

Once they were back inside Thalia imediantly made her way to Effie's room she could hear the room she could just make them out to be Katniss and Haymitch in there with her she knocked and Effie opened the door smiling "is there a problem dear?" Effie asked "I need your help with something" she rubbed the back of her neck "Effie I need a wedding dress" Effie clapped her hands together pulling her inside the roo. "Hey sweetheart everything alright" before she could answer Effie squealed "wedding dress" making Haymitch look at her in delight "congrats Princess" Haymitch smiled "you know Uncle Haymitch I like you better sober" Haymitch shook his head after Effie took all of her measurements she went to visit Peeta "Hey Peeta how are you?" Thalia asked sitting on the chair next to him "alright" he didn't look at her "what's on your mind" she asked him eyebrows knitted together "I'm just afraid Katniss is using you" She sighed and sat down on the bed "Peeta she's not using me" he finally looked at her "she told you to say that" he said looking back down to the floor "No she didnt-" "SHE IS USING YOU, YOU NEED TO KILL HER THALIA" He started struggling against his bonds that tied him to the bed Thalia backed away and left the room Where the usual people stood (Haymitch, Plutarch, Katniss, Finnick and Coin) "Thalia can I talk to you" she nodded and Finnick had walked into their room locking the door "Finnick my love are you alright" she asked "I feel I'm ready to tell you what happened to me when I was there" "you don't have to if your not comfortable with it-the cut her off "it's time you knew" he lifted up his shirt revealing scars burns and bruises on his chest he sat down and she traced her hand over the scar on his chest "it should have been me" she felt hot tears pricking at the corner of her eyes "no it shouldn't" he looked away from her "what did this" she asked turning his gaze back to her "burning hot metal" she couldn't hold back tears anymore as she hugged him tightly not letting him go "it's alright Kitten don't cry" she cooed as he kissed her head stroking her hair as they both fell asleep cuddled up to each other just like old times.
