When Miriam said she had an idea, I didn't think it would lead us to Tranquility. At the same time, after thinking about it, she did say this activity would involve violence and they are a gang so...

"You're sure we won't get hurt, right?" I ask as we enter the parking lot. I hear a ton of shouting and hollers and lights are coming from behind the diner. There's a bunch of people visible in the backyard and some lined up along the right side of Tranquility.

"Nope, we won't. Other people will," she grins.

"What's with the line?"

"Oh, you need to be allowed entrance. Don't worry, we'll get in just fine. The club just wants to make sure people from out of town--specifically apart of other motorcycle gangs--don't get it. It'd be really bad for a brawl to break out so they take extra precautions," Miriam explains.

"Have outsiders gotten in and caused trouble before?"

"Mm, a couple of times I think but it was way before my time. I seem to recall being told one of them was particularly nasty, though. Someone ended up dying, not sure which side he was on. But both times they were busted by the cops, obviously, and...yeah. No good."

We line up behind the other five people waiting to be granted permission into the backyard. I catch a glimpse of some people up ahead, partying and having the time of their lives. Considering it's Thursday, I'm a bit surprised the place is so crowded. It's mostly men but there are some women, all of whom are wearing crop tops and shorts that ride right up their asses, exposing the curves of their cheeks. A lot of the guys are shirtless and I start to feel way too overdressed in my jeans and t-shirt. It's not that hot out, what's up with everyone? At least Miriam is in the same boat as me so I won't look too out of place.

She glances over her shoulder at me and flashes her driver's license. "You'll need some ID. Once I get in, I'm gonna grab us some drinks but you can head over to the stage, okay?"

It doesn't take long for her to be the next person in line. I watch as she hands her card over to a large, intimidating man. He's got a round belly and he's a bit on the shorter side. His hair has been shaved down, leaving him with a buzz cut, but his large, black beard that covers almost half of his face makes up for the lack of hair on his head. He's wearing shades so I can't see his eyes but something tells me he's got a cold, daunting stare.

He barely even spares a glance at Miriam's ID before he waves her inside. It's likely that they already know each other. The man gestures for me to come closer and I take in a deep breath to calm my nerves before giving him my driver's license. He looks at it and his eyebrows furrow. Oh God, please don't. I promise I'm not a threat.

He uses a fat finger to pull his shades down by the frame, staring at me with skeptical, hazel eyes. "What's your business here, doll?"

"I-I'm just here with my friend--Miriam," I stutter, holding my hands up defensively.

"Are you now? I've never seen you around here. Where are you from?"

"Here, I moved--"

"No, where are you really from? Your hometown?"

"I--"

"Nicole?"

I flit my gaze over to the source of the voice and all the tension in my body melts away when I'm met with the sight of Delilah. She has impeccable timing.

"You know her?" the guy asks.

"Yeah, she's cool. Let her in," Delilah nods.

The guy grunts and hands me back my ID before shooing me away. I hurry to her side and let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, you saved my ass from being interrogated and potentially beat."
