I'm Sorry

Oh boy. That title looks promising, doesn't it?

I'm sure some of you might be able to tell where this is going. Believe me when I say I'm not exactly proud of having to do this. But sometimes we need to make decisions for the betterment of humanity 😬

I'm going to be discontinuing this book. I'm sorry but I'm just really not feeling this story anymore. I had a lot planned for later but it's just so hard to find the energy and motivation to build up the plot to that point. Every time I start thinking I should update, it just feels like a chore I don't want to do. I want to make my readers happy but how can I do that when the thought of writing this book makes me unhappy?

It'd be one thing if this book was close to finishing. I'd probably just push through it and get it over and done with. But my original plan for this book was to have, like, 50 chapters (probably closer to 60) and we are still far from that goal. This story hasn't even delved into the action I had planned and I really can't see myself ever reaching that point because of how unsatisfied I am with this book.

Some might suggest I just leave this on hiatus and return to it later but I highly doubt I'm ever gonna want to continue this story. And I don't wanna give anyone false hope.

For anyone who's interested in knowing some of the things I had planned, I'm happy to share them here at the end of this monologue. So you'll kinda get an idea of what could've happened and how the story would've ended but just in 3x speed and without the filler parts lol

Anyways, once again, I'm sorry about having to do this. I hate the thought of letting readers down, especially the people who have been patient enough to wait for my crappy updates that take a million years. I can't help that I'm disappointed with my work tho.

(Also I'm really upset I had to add to this book because before this chapter, wattpad was saying it takes 6 hours and 13 minutes to read this story and WTF. IT'S LIKE FATE LOLOL)

Story notes:

So I think it's pretty clear Nicole and Jungkook were eventually going to end up together. Nothing surprising there I hope.

Not as important but a relationship between Delilah and Jimin is alluded to throughout the story and there are times where Jimin seems to express deeper feelings for her. They both definitely like each other but nothing is ever made official.

Namjoon was a police officer who was briefly mentioned and would've appeared a few more times but wouldn't have had any major role in the story. Taehyung and Hoseok were also mentioned I think? At least I'm sure Taehyung was (he was referred to as "Vante") and they were supposed to be part of one of the other gangs Silent Death. I only really planned to have them run into Nicole once and they also weren't going to have major roles in the story.

Some time after Nicole and Jungkook get together, there was going to be an incident at the pub where Nicole was going to get into a fight with a prostitute who provoked her, which was going to result in her getting fired. She was going to switch to working at Tranquility.

Now for some of the more important points: Ammo (Bernie) wanted the gang to get into distributing drugs because of the amount of money it brings in but Gary didn't want to. He was worried ATF would've gotten involved because it happened in the past and also didn't trust that the members would be responsible enough to handle the drugs without "sampling" them and getting caught with them.

Ammo doesn't like Gary's decision and was going to start sneaking around with other gangs (the ones Scarlet Knives aren't on good terms with). He basically is betraying the club by working with the enemy.

(TW: ATTEMPTED RAPE AND DEATH) One of the deals Ammo tried to make fell apart and the gang decided they needed to send a message to Scarlet Knives. So the gang sends two of their men after Miriam and Nicole while they're out walking the streets one night. Their target is Miriam because they know she had a connection with Kane and think they can use her as leverage. They don't know anything about Nicole but since she's there, the more victims the better. So the guys try to sexually assault the two girls, each taking on one girl. Miriam manages to escape her captor and tries to save Nicole by attacking the guy holding her. She ends up getting pinned to the ground and the guy accidentally cracks her skull which knocks her out. The plans have basically gone to shit so the guys just decide to shoot Miriam and leave Nicole to deal with the mess.

None of the members of Scarlet Knives are pleased with what happened obviously, especially not Finger (Jordan) and Kane. While getting attacked, Nicole overheard one of the guys calling what they're doing "payback" for being wronged and lets the gang know about this.

Everyone starts suspecting each other and wonders who could've been involved. Being the club president, Gary knows more about the members' activities and notices that Ammo has been behaving suspiciously. He confides in Pretty Boy (Trenton) and the two begin to suspect that Ammo is a traitor.

(TW: DEATH) Gary and Trenton decide they want to have Ammo killed so they don't need to worry about him stirring up shit. Gary gives Trenton the order to do it. It doesn't go as planned, however. While everyone is out together to celebrate an occasion one night, Ammo decides to leave to do his own business elsewhere but his wife Jen also leaves. She offers to drive Nicole home and without Gary or Trenton knowing, takes Ammo's truck. They assume Ammo is the one in it. While stopped at a red light, Nicole bends down to grab something from the floor and Trenton comes up behind the truck on his motorcycle and shoots Jen. Nicole decides to stay bent down for her safety. Trenton pulls up next to the truck, realizes he's made a mistake and killed Jen instead, and flees the scene.

Before Trenton had left, he had cursed and Nicole could hear it and recognized his voice. She later confides in Jungkook about it. He's furious and goes after Trenton. When the other members intervene to stop the fight, Jungkook reveals what Trenton had did. They're all repulsed and want him out of the club, so Gary decides to hold a vote (Gary acts like he's innocent and had no part in ordering Trenton to kill Ammo. Trenton doesn't say anything because despite the betrayal he still wants to remain loyal to Gary and he also feels like he deserves to be punished for what he did to Jen). Everyone votes to kick Trenton out so he's exiled from the club.

Later, Jungkook admits to Nicole that he wants out of the club but it's hard to just leave and expect his life to become normal. There's always a chance other members will try to drag him back in. He wants to be done with this life tho and live happily with her elsewhere where he doesn't need to fear about her dying.

The club needs to come to an agreement or form a truce with the gang behind Miriam's death (the one Ammo messed with, who have also decided to start screwing with Scarlet Knives' business and profits). Several of the members decide to meet with some of the other gang's members at a bridge in a deserted area to settle their differences. Jungkook is included in the group. Because no one trusts this other gang, some of the Scarlet Knives members (Nicole too) decide to watch the interaction from a distance, ready to step in for a fight in case the other gang tries anything. At some point, Jungkook gets one of the guys belonging to the other gang to shoot him and he falls off the bridge, faking his death. He had been wearing a bulletproof vest but no one had known, not even Nicole (there would've been a hint to it long before the interaction where Nicole begged him to wear one for his own safety but he had reassured her everything would be fine). The main story will end with this.

In the epilogue, we see Nicole sometime in the future at home with a child. Right at the end, a man comes home from work and it's heavily implied to be Jungkook (he calls out to her by a nickname only he would call her)
