The weeks went by at an alarming speed, is what Roy would have liked. But the opposite was true. At first, he hardly noticed them, but aside from that one night, Aaron and himself hadn't been alone in the same room. The skinship their shared had left him in longing and the more he denied himself the touch, however insignificant, of his mate. The more time seemed to slow and sunk its fangs into his flesh. Deeper and deeper until he felt every second that ticked by.

Surprisingly, it didn't affect him while he was working. The moment he started on a task he was free of the quenching thirst to see and have Aaron by his side.

It was oddly...something. As a man who had been, beaten, cut, starved and tortured, Roy couldn't quit call the feeling in his chest painful, yet it was the only word that fit.

A pain that want's really paint nor did he find it irritation, itchy or annoying. It was puzzling, confusion much like his mate. His only peace came in his work.

Roy was in the middle of ignoring the longing he'd develop when his the office door was pushed open. There was only a few people that were allowed to enter without knocking and awaiting a response. One of them was Joseph, who was tasked with delivering urgent messages, another was Aaron.

He became excited, much more so then he would have liked to admit, only for that excitement to be turned into surprise and then disappointment. All these emotions flashing through him in seconds though his face remained neutral as he stared at the familiar tall man at the door.

"Adrian" He voiced the name that tasted odd on the same tongue that easily rolled it out before.

"Alpha" The tall, strong and slender male purred. A sound that was once appealed to him. But now-

"I found my mate" Roy informed his now ex lover. The latter nodded once and slowly made his way to the desk, the same legs that was once wrapped tightly around Roy's waist, leading the blue eyed blond forward with easy, sexy strides.

Even now when Roy held no interest whatsoever in the other male, his mind filled with no one else but Aaron. Roy still found Adrian attractive. And by the smirk that played on those familiar teasing thin lips, Adrian was well aware of this.

"I've heard" He said, reaching the red wood surface, easily sitting on the desk and picking up the first thing he could get his hand on, in this case, a paper weight. "It was all anyone spoke about even out there on the battlefield" He commented, his nose pointed in the air to show his distaste.

"How did it go?" Roy changed the subject. Adrian shrugged.

"The usual" Adrian began, placing down the paper weight, stretching his arms above his head and let out a yawn. "We won them the war then they try to stiff us or kill us"

"Which was it?"

"A little of both" The blond hopped off the desk and place both hands on the surface, leaning in until his face was inched apart from Roy's and the collar of his shirt hung giving the alpha a clear view of the smooth vanilla skin beneath. Roy's eyes didn't linger, ignoring the alluring smirking lips and instead meeting eyes that reflected the caribbean sea.

"Do you really want to be talking about this now? When we've only just been reunited" His words were suggestive even without the provocative pronunciation.

"Roy!" Unlike entering unannounced, there was only one person who called him by his name anymore, even his mother referred to him as alpha, and even if there was someone that dare called him by his giving name, he doubted that they would be able to say it the way Aaron did. With excitement and a hint of worship. Nor will they be able to ignite the flames that the man at the door did with a single word.
