Aaron was fast asleep behind his desk when his office door opened. He was a light sleeper by nature, so he sturred awake but remained unmouving, not wanting to open his eyes. Hoping that however it was would take the hint and leave.
"Aaron" The familiar voice called, and though the human recognized it as his mate he still didn't react. He'd been up all night dealing with his toys, one of whom nearly died because of a helper's negligence and ignorance. He was tired but most of all, he wanted to test what his mate would do.
"Aaron we have guest" Roy called and with a quiet sign, the human opened his eyes. Dragging a hand over his face, he sat up straight and as usual he only had eyes for Roy.
Standing next to the big bad alpha were four men. One of them was David who didn't fail to give his usual disappointed stare. But the other men were complete strangers. However, Aaron needed only a glace to tell that they were not from Arsenal. Though they were bigger then the most masculine of humans, compared to the simpliest of pencilpushers of this pack, those three men could only be discribed as lesser. Done looking, Aaron returned his gaze towards his mate with a questioning look.
"They're the representative for Emerald and Jade." Roy informed, to which Aaron glanced at the calendar sitting on the edge of his desk. His eyes returned to his mate, not at all speaking a word.
"After they were brief on the changement of information officer. They decided a visit was in order." David noted the human's look and took the initial to explain.
"Thing of it as a pop quiz" One of the strangers quickly added with a polite smile. Aaron glanced over at him. The man was tall slender and with a pair of thin rimmed glasses. In the time that Aaron had looked away, he and his colleges had taken to looking around his office with a scholar like air and a lavy pace.
"I was homeschooled" Aaron told him, watching with silent satistaction as the smile on the strangers lips fell into a frown. Akwardess hung between them like a heay veil which was ripped away by Aaron's sudden smile.
"Okay, how would this work?" He asked, standing from his chair with a stretch.
"Usually " The same stranger began, his smile stiffed on his face. "We'd go over the responses you've collected and go from there if that'll be okay with you"
"I would have been fine had any anwers to give." Aaron lazily responded. His statement was fallowed by a moment of pregnant silence. The stranger looked bateen each other with great confusion. Then they turned their confused gaze towards the silently fuming David
"None of them have talked?" Another member of the Emerald and Jade spoke with an almost repremending tone. David parted his lip to speak but Aaron was faster.
"Not quite" The human responded, moving from around his desk past the group of taller, more muscular men to the shelf that stood at the right. He looked through the books for a while before stooping down and opening drawers. Obviously looking for something. "I haven't asked them anything" He clarified. Frowning as he turned up empty in his search. He then moved to the left and started to looked around there.
"I'm sorry, but what have you been doing this entire time?" The first stranger questioned. His words tainted with a belittling and slightly aggrivated tone.
"Lots of things i assure you" Aaron spoke pausing for another moment, then crossing past the men to his desk. He stopped, raised a finger to them with one hand as he pressed on a the red button on the phone and spoke into the receiver.
"Can you please call doctor Joseph and have him meet me in front of XX1's room." Aaron spoke his peace and release the button. The finger he held up for silence was lowered he moved behind his desk and began searching through the piles of papers.
