"Hey kid, this is going to be your new guardian" the officer said while opening a door

Through the door walked my idol, pro hero Hawks.

"Hi baby bird; it's nice to meet you"

He held out his hand for me to shake but I swatted it away and ran up to him, hugging his leg.

"Are you going to be taking her back to where you are"

"No, I'll be staying in town until she's old enough to go to U.A. Then she'll be getting her own house here"

He took my small hand and we started walking to a huge house that was super close to U.A High.

"Can I ask you something, kid?"

"Hmm?"

"Where'd the scar on your face come from?"

I remembered back to that incident, remembering how caring my mother used to be when I didn't know what a soulmate had been. Thinking back, my father was never home, so something bad probably happened to him so my mother didn't want me to find my soulmate.

"It was only about a year ago now, a few days after I had turned 8. Something happened to my soulmate and they ended up getting this from who knows what so now I have it to"

"Oh okay, that makes sense. Anyway kid, this is going to be your room. I didn't know how you'd want it decorated but I did my best" he laughed a bit 

"No, you did great; it's perfect" I smiled and ran up to my bed before flopping down on it.

"Well, it's late so you should probably sleep"

    He waved and left the room, letting me have a peaceful sleep.

    I woke up late the next day, I walked into the living room and saw Hawks already awake and on the couch.

"You sleep, huh?" he laughed and I hummed in response

"I made breakfast, go get changed and then come back out"

    I went back into my room and got ready for the day, before heading back out and into the kitchen.

"Woah, what happened to you?"

"Soulmate" I shrugged and grabbed a plate he prepared for me off the counter before sitting down

"Are they okay?"

"I don't know, I can't talk to them"

"Right right. I have work and will probably be back pretty late, there's plenty food around. Just make yourself at home and do whatever you like. I'll see you later kid!"

    He rushed out of the door, flying off to do hero things. I sighed and sat down on the couch before trying to figure out how to work his TV. Eventually I figured it out and lied down, maybe not having my family around wasn't that bad after all.
