Cuts and Scrapes ~ Todoroki Shoto x Reader

~ SIXTEEN | 16 ~

~ Todoroki's POV ~

    I ran into the house and found them unresponsive on the ground. They were covered in burn marks and was about to catch on fire. I used my ice and got rid of the fire that was about to touch them before picking them up and getting out of the house.

    Soon, heroes and police showed up to help. My father tried to make it seem like an accident, but I told the officers the real story. Endeavour was charged, but being the new number 1 hero had its advantages and he didn't get any major punishments. Also, the real story would be kept out of the media. To everyone, it was just a simple tragic housefire.

    Y/N was escorted to the hospital, it had been hours now and they were still unconsious. I watched them get driven away before running all the way to the hospital. I got there and checked in, I ran all the way through the halls to their room despite the doctors and nurses telling me not to run.

    I walked in and saw them on the hospital bed with Hawks beside them.

"Hello sir" I bowed

"Ah, you must be the soulmate I've heard so much about. No need for the formalities, here-" he said and pulled up a chair beside him

"-I'm sure you want to know what's going on?"

"Please" 

"Well, it was just a fire. Many people suffer from those and make it out alive, and almost everyone is concious within just a few hours at most. But the doctors don't see a chance of them waking up anytime soon"

"How is that possible"

"The doctors aren't sure, this is an unusual case and apparently they are in a very unstable condition right now. The doctors even went as far as to put them in a medically induced coma"

"Isn't that a bit extreme?"

"Apparently not" he looked down

    I stared down at them. They looked so peaceful, but they also looked so lifeless. I don't understand how this had such a big impact on their health, but then again not even the doctors know so it's just going to end up remaining unanswered. 

    When they wakes up, they are going to be so traumatized; and it's going to be my fault for not just listening to that scumbag.
