FOR THE LOVE OF BAMBOO TREES

I turned my head in disbelief,
I was bewitched by the sound,
The sound coming from the mysterious bamboo forest,
Invading only a small portion of land but such enormous portion of my unwary heart,
The leaves caressed each other in the most heavenly manner,
Generating a melody fit for the realm of the angels.

I could have swayed to the sound for hours and gladly lose myself in the act,
Oh, how I wish to be barefoot on the ground that day instead of being driven by those wheels,
I would have ran, ran among those trees,
The gentle wind brushing through me,
The benign sunlight pouring down on me,
I would stand still and feel everything around me,
My billowing skirt and blouse,
My unruly hair blocking my sight,
My heart aching from the thought of this moment not lasting forever,
And in that moment I would have let the wind, the ground the melody consume me.

" Come on, dance with me. The earth is spinning. We can't just stand on it."
