"Almost done," you reassured yourself. It was taking quite a long time to finish this experiment. You walk across the room towards the rose water you were making. "It's pink enough, yes!" You take the rose petals out of the warm bowl of water before walking back to your mixture and pouring some in. You look at your notebook which held the steps.

For the self-confidence potion, skip step 10 and go on ahead to step 11: mix your ingredients!
For the love potion, follow step 10

Step 10: last ingredient, a sample of your/target's DNA.

You completely ignored step 10 since you weren't trying to make a love potion, those are really dangerous and you weren't ready to deal with the consequences. You grabbed the wooden spoon to mix with, but a piece of it had cut you. You flinched dropping the spoon and put your wounded finger inside of your mouth. It took only a few seconds for the blood to stop and when it did, you began to mix.

After a few minutes, you had decided that it was mixed enough, so you practically ran to your oven.

20 minutes, that's how much time you had to waste.

You ran a flower shop that was connected to your house, so when you walked down the stairs and through the staircase doors, you were in your shop behind the counter. You took that time to water the plants that needed to be watered and after that, read one of your favorite books.

You heard the little bell ring indicating that someone had walked into the store, but given the time, you didn't need to look up to know who it was. "What's up Y/n?" "It's Sunday remember? We're closed Hugo," you reply not looking up from your book. You heard a chuckle, "When have I ever visited to buy a plant? I don't care about plants." You raised an eyebrow, looking at him to see how he'd recover that sentence. "No offense," he added.

You rolled your eyes, shaking your head. "What do you need Hugo? I'm a little busy at the moment, but I can help you with your inventions tomorrow." "Busy?" He repeated in disbelief, "Sorry to break it to you, but reading isn't 'busy'."

"I'm working on an experiment smartass, I'm just waiting-" Before you could even finish your sentence, Hugo had jumped the counter and ran up the stairs which wasn't surprising to you. He had always shown interest in your experiments and potions since he believed in both science and magic. You groaned knowing that you had to follow Hugo before he found a way to set your house on fire.

You ran up the stairs and saw Hugo cutting a piece of cake, it was your potion cake. "No no no! Not for you!" He raised the cake over his head so you couldn't reach the plate he was holding. "Well that's a little much, honestly, you're not going to share your dessert with me?" "That's my creation, Hugo! It's a self-confidence potion and God knows that you have enough self-confidence as it is." His eyes widened, he was intrigued. "I already took a bite."

You raised an eyebrow, "WHAT?" "Right before I cut the piece." You facepalmed, "It takes a minute to kick in, just hang in there...uh, Hugo?"

He slowly put the bowl down, now looking straight at you like you were his prey. It was like his whole mood switched. "Is the self-confidence kicking in?" You asked in a worried tone. He stood there looking at you for a second, just silent.

"Were you always that beautiful?" Your lips parted slightly in confusion. "I'm sorry...what?" "Your eyes...and lips," he held your chin and traced your lips with his thumb. Your face heated up in confusion and embarrassment, you froze. "Everything's so perfect about you. I just want to kiss..." his voice trailed off as he came closer to your face.
