1 Reunited with the Blond Boy (Halloween chapter)

A/n: Hey guys! Wow, not a Varian x reader, what a shocker, lmao. So first we're starting this off with the classic song chapter! As you can probably tell, I'll be using she/they pronouns referring to y/n unless something else is necessary for the chapters.

...Istg if any of y'all say ANYTHING about the title like "it's past Halloween dude" "Dude you're late asf" PLEASE I KNOW IT ALREADY PAST. Also, this is exactly how I imagine Hugo sounding so yeah!

(Also side note, how did I not know Childish Gambino voices the vampire dude? That's crazy! Anyways let me stop talking and just get on with the oneshot lmao)

It was Halloween and you needed something to do. All of your best friends had already expressed their
'maturity' by stating they didn't celebrate Halloween because it's "too childish". You kept scrolling through your contact list, slowly losing hope.

The list went on until you came across one name. "Hugo." That was your ex best friend. Now don't get the wrong idea, you guys didn't get into some crazy fight or anything, just came to the agreement that you weren't right for each other. You had totally different schedules and different cliques, so cutting off the friendship entirely was the best idea, instead of drifting apart. At least at that time it seemed so.

But that happened forever ago, freshman year of high school. Now, you had practically just gotten into senior year and you both had probably changed a lot since then. High school can really fuck you up if you're not cautious, or if you're lucky, change you for the better. And because of that, you were safe to say that you were lowkey scared of Hugo's outcome.

Taking a deep breath, you push the text button and begin to type in your message.

Hey dude, I know it's been a while, but if you don't have any plans, wanna hang out and do something today? Because you know Halloween and stuff- Y/n

You send it, and wait, and wait, and wait. After a few minutes, you put your phone face down on your bed next to you. 'He's probably doing something right now,' you thought, 'that, or he doesn't want anything to do with me.' Your thoughts were interrupted by a buzz/ding sound that came from the phone.

You picked it up automatically, a little too excited for a notification, I don't blame you either.

You let a smile form on your lips as you read the text. 'Les gooooo!!!!' You put on black jeans and black boots with a black and white striped turtleneck, and an oversized black t-shirt. To top it all off, you put on cat ears you had since middle school and draw on a nose and whiskers with your makeup and do, of course, a cat eye look with your eyeliner. (Makeup doesn't have gender Karen)

You grab a really small coffin shaped bookbag and told your parents you were going out. "Be back in a few!" It was about 5:30pm so you could hang out for quite a while before going back home. You make your way to the park, only a few blocks away.

You saw kids going door to door in small groups saying "trick or treat!" With their cute little costumes. It felt like only yesterday you and Hugo were in their tiny shoes. You continued to walk, smiling sadly at the ground. What you would give to go back in time, not stressing about what the future holds, just focusing on the present.

After what felt like a million years, you had finally reached the park, just as the sun was setting. You spotted a silhouette of a tall boy. You assumed that was Hugo since they didn't seem to be with anyone else. Taking a deep breath, you walk up to him.
