Mark's P.O.V.
"And I will see you in the next video. Buh-bye!" I ended the recording and sighed, leaning back in my chair. I scanned the room I was in briefly. It was like it usually was while recording; dark. 'I should probably edit the video.' I thought.
I edited the video for a while. When I was done. I let it upload. It was only 8:30 PM by then, and I wasn't very tired. Maybe Taylor was up for recording. I hadn't recorded with her for quite a while, so why not?
I took my phone off my desk and texted her.
Mark: Hey Taylor, wanna record?
Suddenly, I saw something glowing out of the corner of my eye. I quickly looked over, and the glowing stopped. Or, at least it became less intense. There was still a faint, golden glow. I slowly set down my phone, curious.
The object that was glowing was a small, wooden box, sitting on my desk. It reminded me of a jewelry box Taylor had. Only it was a bit smaller. The box was a dark brown, with a shiny golden latch keeping it shut. The top had a simple eye carved into it that looked like the eye of Horus.
I knew I shouldn't pick it up. But curiosity got the best of me. Plus, it made me feel so warm and safe. As if the box was there to protect from harm. It was calling to me in a way. I had to open it up.
Quickly, I snatched the box off my desk. It warmed my hands and made my palms tingle. The glowing became slightly brighter. I slowly reached for the latch and pushed it off. It made a clicking sound and shot up against the top of the box. The box had been opened.
A small smile formed on my face. I opened the box. More glowing came out of the cracks as it creaked open. Finally, I opened the small box. The glowing stopped.
But there was nothing inside.
Suddenly, a hand covered my mouth. The other one wrapped around me, clinging onto the shirt covering my chest. I tried to speak, but everything I said was muffled. The room was pitch black. I faintly saw something drift in front of me. It looked like smoke of some kind.
I heard a chuckle come from behind me. The person grabbing me moved a few fingers, leaving my mouth open. Before I could talk, though, the smoke shot into my mouth. I tried to cough as it raced down my throat.
A sharp pain shot through the side of my neck. It felt as if someone had just stabbed me with a small knife. Everything went black.
