The tattoo

Eli pulled into my driveway and knocked on the door. I was still in the shower so my mom answered. Hey cutie, are you here for me, she asked. Umm, is Caitlyn here, Eli asked.  Yeah, she's in the shower, so we can have some fun, my mom said leaning on him. Thank you for the offer, but I'm here for your daughter, he said. 

She's gonna break your heart she doesn't know how to handle love, you deserve someone better than her, she whispered in his ear. Can I come in and wait for her, he asked. Sure, thing but if she ever hurts you I'm always here for you, she said. 

Thanks, he said pushing past her up to my room. I was getting out of the shower when I heard the door slam shut. Eli is that you, I asked. He stepped into my bathroom. Why didn't you tell me about your mom, Eli asked. I tried, but you never really listened, I said. 

What did she do, I asked. She was making me uncomfortable that's all you need to know, he said. No, your lying I can tell I see it in your eyes, I said. Shit, he whispered. I knew it, what did she say, I asked. Well, she said you were going to break my heart bc you don't know how to handle love, he said. 

Well she's lying, I love you more than anything, she's just jealous I can keep a guy, I said. Ok, let's go, he said. 

We were almost out of the house when my mom said, Think about what I said. He opened the car door for me, and we drove off. What was my mom talking about was all I could think about. 

He put a blindfold on my eyes have way there. The car finally stopped. He opened the door and I still couldn't tell where we were. Ok, walk forward he said. He took the blindfold off and said open your eyes. We were at the beach. 

I remember telling him a couple of days ago I wanted to watch the sunset. We sat down on the pier holding each other. I love you, he whispered in my ear. I love you more, and I love this new look, I said. When the sun had finally set he lifted me on his shoulders. Put me down, I yelled. He started spinning in circles. When he finally let me down I was so dizzy, he had to carry me to the car. 

On the way home I couldn't stop staring at him, I finally found love even after everyone told me I was worthless. He dropped me off and I watch him drive away, that was always the worst part of my day. Watching him leave me and then going in my house with my horrible mother.

Eli and I ended up falling asleep on ft, he knew I was only comfortable around him. 

The next day I woke up early to go pick up Miguel from his house since we haven't hung out in a while. So how are you and Eli, he asked. We haven't hung out in weeks and that's the first thing you asked, I said. We both started laughing. I missed this, he said. Yeah me too, I said. 

We pulled up to the dojo and went inside, sensei only had hope in us for winning the all valley competition. We practiced for hours, and then we had to do it with everyone else. 

We were taking a break when Eli said, want to see something cool. Yeah like anything about you is cool, I said. He stood up and took off his shirt showing off a hawk tattoo. Woah, I said. Told you it was cool, he said smirking. That's badass, Ashia said. 14, hours in the chair, Eli said. 

You wasted 14 hours for that, I said laughing. Wait are your parents ok with that, Ashia asked. Oh, they have no idea, I'm definitely gonna have to wear a t-shirt until college probably longer, please don't tell them, he said. 

Way to go dumbass, I said, and we all started laughing except Eli. I'm kidding Eli, I said. He still wasn't laughing so I jumped on him and started tickling him. NO, he started laughing trying to get me to stop.
