{Harper}

I walk slowly up to the front of the room where the teacher is standing, staring me down.

As I walk past Harry, he mouthes "good luck."

Seriously?! I couldn't have gotten something more encouraging, like "you can do it," or "you'll be fine?" Cheesy might be cheesy, but it can be reassuring too!

When I reach the front of the class, I freeze.

"And what is your name? You may share it with the class." she shoots me a stern look as to say 'make it quick.'

"Ah, Harper." I smile cheekily and wave. I see one girl in a 'PINK' shirt roll her eyes, and someone-in the class of thirty-whistles.

"May we all give a warm welcome to Harper?" the teacher smiles.

I quick whisper to her "You actually never introduced yourself... what is your name?"

"Mrs. Klidner, but you can just call me Mrs. K. Now, please, go back to your seat. Class needs to start." she gives me a small shove in the direction of my desk. I stumble a little, but I catch myself quick.

Harry turns around to face me. "That was nice," he starts to laugh "and so fake!" Now he is laughing so hard, I swear he has no control.

I put my head in my hands, "I know, it was pathetic!" Now I start to laugh along with him.

Maybe it wont be so bad here, I just have to make sure Harry is with me.

<> Lunchtime <>

"Oh my crap, I think I'm going to die if I don't eat soon." I complain.

Harry walks beside me to the commons so we can eat. "I know. They really starve you here."

We get in line and grab a tray. "Do you have your card?"

I look at him. "Of course I do, it's literally the first day, why would I not have it!?"

"Just checking that's all, I know you aren't the kind of person who is organized." He chuckles.

I slap him on the shoulder a little harder than I should have...

"Ow, you're a brutal one." He rubs his arm.

"I can't believe you!" I start to laugh as I grab a bagel.

Harry grabs three pieces of pizza from the counter. "What is your favorite food?"

"What kind of question is that?" I ask.

He smirks at me. "A lame one, for a lame person."

We pay for our food and sit at a table in the middle of the cafeteria.

"Um... Italian? I like Italian food... I guess... How about you?"

He pauses. "I like, well, I don't know."

A smile appears on my face. "You know, self discovery is very, very, important." I say this sarcastically.

"Yeah. Okay, very funny." he shakes his head while eating his second piece of pizza.

<> On the bus home <>

I sit next to Harry again, "You know, you made this day a lot more fun."

I turn towards him. "Really? I, out of ALL people, I made SCHOOL FUN!?"

"Yeah, you made it a little interesting, but now that I think of it, I did make most of the fun around here."

The bus comes to a slow stop. "I guess thats my stop... bye, Harry..." I wave to him.

I leave the bus to walk home without waiting for Jon or Macy. the bus leaves as I walk up my porch to the front door.

I open it to find Arnold sitting, waiting for me to come home from school.

"Mom? I'm home!" I flop on the couch again and take a look at Twitter.

Jon walks in the door as my mom comes down the stairs. "How was it!? Good? Anything exciting?!

Tell me ALL about it!"

I glance at her then back to my phone, I smile. "Mine was nice."
