{Harper}

"What the crap? Wh-, what is this!? I have to sit in the middle? This is a fricken' nightmare." I quick grab my earbuds from my bag and pug them into my phone, turning on my 5 Seconds of Summer playlist.

Leaning my neck back into the headrest, I slip in my earbuds, close my eyes and take a deep breath. It was about a 16 hour drive all the way to Alabama. I was not fond of spending long hours in a car, especially the 'waking up around 3 o'clock in the morning. I always became sick in some way, and my anxiety always seems to catch me.

I yawn, letting sleep wash over my face, trying not to think about leaving my friends, as I have already spent many nights crying, alone.

<> 17 hours later <>

"Harper, Harrrperr. Harper!"

I sit up quickly, looking around frantically until I see my mom leaning over the front seat, shaking my leg.

"Hey, sweetie. We're here."

I look out my car window. I can't see anything. What time is it?

I walk inside to see a whole new dimension. I spin around. "iS THiS oUR HOUse!?" I'm almost screaming.

My mom closes the front door."Shh.. " She says laughing in amusement. "I told you your dad got a promotion."

"It's FrICKen' HugE!!"

I run upstairs to find the biggest room.

THIS is mine... WAIT... the next one is bigger... but that bed looks so comfy... maybe I can switch the beds later... Nah... I'm going for the bigger bed.

I dash over to the small package by my bedroom door. The temporary sheets...

As fast as I possibly can, I make my bed. Once done, I leap into it, burying my face into the pillow.

That night, I had the best sleep ever.

<>2:00 pm<>

"Wake up you fricken' brat." I feel a quick sting across my cheek, all the way up to my eye. I shake myself awake, and prop myself up with one arm, using the other to rub the hot palm-print across my face.

"Ow! What the crap Macy?" I notice that I'm still wearing my 5SOS shirt from last night.

"Mom 'made breakfast'." She rips up my blinds. "Now get up."

The light hits me like I'm a vampire, and I finally stand up to stumble toward the kitchen.

I recognize the scent immediately. Pancakes.

"Hey mom." I wipe the tired from my eyes.

"Good afternoon sweetheart, did you have a good sleep? Here's some pancakes." Even though its 2:00 in the afternoon, she still is wearing an apron with that classic mom smile.

"Yeah, it was good until..." I hesitate getting my sister in trouble. "this one right here slapped me." I gesture to Macy.

Mom gives her a stern look. "Seriously?"

Jon finishes his pancakes, "Well she probably deserved it."

I try to think of a comeback, but I take too long to find something clever, so my mother interrupts my thoughts.

"Anyway," Mom continues "we have to get you three enrolled in the next 2 days, school starts Monday."

It's Wednesday. We all groan. Great. Can't wait to be the new kid.
