I run into the last stall. Leaning against the door, I start to break down because I know I can't handle these kind of situations. Ever since I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, I have been avoiding things like this...
Why did he even care that I fell? No stranger has ever been so... kind.
I wipe away my tears and take a deep breath. I take my time going out of the stall so I don't get overwhelmed.
I take one last look in the mirror before I leave.
No one will notice I was crying will they? Nah, I'll be good.
I walk out "normally", hoping no one would realize that I was the girl who fell. As I make my way around all if the people, I see my family.
Yahs! Time to leave!
I slip between students to reach them, and approach them with a fake smile.
I try to sound pleasant. "Hey guys."
My mom turns to look at me. "How did 'explore-the-school' go?"
"Eh. Could have been better. It was just a... um... a little... boring. Thats all." My smile fades.
"Ok well, I already enrolled everyone, so I guess we can all leave?"
YES PLEASE!!
"Sure, yeah." I try to hide my excitement.
"Alright, lets go!" My mom starts to weave through the mass of people when I see the familiar dark curly hair...
Oh crap. Just look down.
I face the dirty tile and head in the direction of my family, looking up every now and then to make sure I don't loose them.
I see the door to outside ahead and I quickly exit. Catching up to Macy, I ask, "So, did you happen to see any cute guys? Little-Wittle-Macy?" I purse my lips and make a kissy-face just to annoy her.
She gives me a disturbed face then steps away a little.
"Well, there was ONE guy I thought was a little cute, he had these adorable curls, and brown eyes... but he looked a little older than you. Maybe a junior? I don't know."
"There are like a THOUSAND guys with THAT description. Good job." I roll my eyes.
We all hop in the car on our way home.
Seriously!? Three days until school and I already hate it.
<> a "delightful" drive home <>
I flop down on the couch as any other teenager would do, and flip pon Netflix.
My best and ONLY friend in this crap-eating life of mine.
Macy walks up to me. "Give me the remote."
I look at her. "No. don't you have a long-lost-friend-or-whatever to talk to?" Turn my eyes back to the screen, flipping through my queue until I stop on 'American Horror Story.'
I look back to Macy.
"Leave. Little kids aren't supposed to watch this stuff, so leave. Now."
Macy glares at me and storms off.
"Go watch 'Teletubbies' or something! Little baby. We have enough TVs!"
So three days until I become a Sophomore, so I decide to do something useful, and catch up on some old friends I haven't seen since we've moved, Suzanne Warren, Martha Rodgers, and Tate Langdon.
I have GREAT time-management skills.
