{Harper}

BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! BEE-

"AHhhHhHHh!!" I sit up in bed, screaming my head off like a lunatic because I had a nightmare.

I quickly roll over to hit the off button on my alarm clock-which now leaves a slight ringing in my ears-but I fall of the edge of my bed, with a THUD as I sweep of everything off of my side table, along with the alarm clock.

Things shatter, cords rip out of the wall, and I fall on the floor, pulling my sheets with me, making them just about flip my mattress.

My dad bursts into the room along with my mom.

"Honey!" my mom runs to my side, helping me sit up as my dad starts to fix my things back into their places.

"Ow-" I feel a sharp pain in my right shoulder and wrist, but I suck up the pain.

"Do you hurt anywhere? Or are you okay? Maybe we should stay home today. You know, I think we will do that. Yeah, thats a good idea." My mom gently presses my ankles and wrists to see if I wince.

When she reaches my right wrist, I clench my fist and bite my cheek.

"Ok, that's it. You're staying home today." Mom lifts me up kind of like an injured football player is when they hobble off of the field.

She brings my to the downstairs couch and hands me the TV remote. "Watch what you like. I'll get you some ice."

Jon and Macy come over to see how I am before they leave to the bus stop.

"Ouch." Macy says, "looks like you won't be seeing your boyfriend today..."

"He's not my boyfriend." I claim "We've only been at school for a day! Any guy that I talk to will make you think that I like him. you have NO evidence." I feel pretty good about my response, not too defensive, but just enough power to get my point past.

"I know one thing." she mocks.

I shift my head to turn and look at her. "Really? And what would that be?"

"That Harry is the first boy that you've ever socialized with." She steps out the door, slamming it behind her.

I look at Jon and roll my eyes. "I cant believe her. She doesn't even make sense."

"Well, think about it. She has a point, you haven't ever had any guy friends. You barely even talk to them unless it's your family." He grabs his backpack to head out the door.

"You're right." I admit.

He whips his head around. "What? Did I just hear you say that I was right?"

I sigh. "Yes Jon, you were right."

"Wow. My day just got a whole lot better. Thanks Harper." he smirks as he leaves the house.

My mom walks down the stairs. "Here I got the ice. I already called you in to let them know what happened, now lets see how they are..." she looks at my right wrist first.

"Ugh-ow!" I pull my arm away from her to look at it.

"Oh my, it's swollen, and bruised..."
She quickly looks at my wrist which is twice the size that it should be.

"We should go to the hospital just to make sure that we are alright here." she sits me up.

"DaVE!? IM tAKing HarPeR To THe HoSPItal!!" We slowly walk to the car.

I hop in the front seat and lay my car seat back so I'm more comfortable.
