"You can still go to school, but you can't use your right arm at all. So yes, you will have to write with your left hand." my mom restates what the doctor told me.

"Ugh! No, whyyy?!" I whine because I have a reason to.

She goes int a long explanation."I know how you feel, when I was a kid, I broke my lower leg and shattered my knee ca-"

"Okaeyy... I'm just gonna go to my room and take a nap."

"Alright Honey... just remember that I love you." She takes my head in her hands to plant a giant kiss on my forehead.

I climb onto my bed to facetime my friends in Minneapolis. It seems to ring forever. The call ends with no response. I check my text messages but the last convo we had was 3:07 pm August 2, 2015. That was almost 3 weeks ago! Why havent they called me or even Snapchatted me?! I open Instagram and direct message them. No response. I guess I will just have to wait.

I facetime Abbie one last time, but this time a message popped up on my phone screen that says 'facetime unavailable'. The only way the could be unavailable is if her phone was dead, or if she declined it.

I quickly re-open Instagram. I click on her profile, scrolling to her latest picture. This was taken 2 minutes ago! I HIGHLY doubt that her phone died in two minutes. Abbie never went anywhere without her charger.

I have a gut feeling that they have forgotten about me.

...Nah, I I'll be okay. I think.

I roll over CAREFULLY this time and slip under the fluffy comforter.

<14 hours later>

My alarm goes off again. This time I sit up gently and walk to the bathroom to remind myself of the living hell I will be going through for the next 4 months. How am I supposed to do my hair? I grab my comb and slowly pull it through my hair which somewhat resembles a nest.

I bend over flipping my hair so it hangs above the floor. I stretch my hair tie over my fingers while somehow grabbing all of my hair at once putting it in a high ponytail.

I should wake up about 20 minutes earlier in the mornings because I have such difficulty by myself.

My life is terrible.

I look in my drawer and grab my favorite skinny jeans and my red plaid fleece shirt. It's really my closest friend.

The smell of maple oatmeal draws me to the kitchen.

Jon sees me first. "There's the cripple."

I look at him in disgust.

"Well, we know who's the brat this morning." Macy turns toward Jon.

"Thank you!" I say while rolling my eyes.

"Oh no. Don't thank me, I don't need your pity, you peasant." She turns away.

My mother cuts in, "Mkay, you all need to stop, because everyday you three are beating each other up with your words! It's horrible!"

The maple oatmeal is sitting in a large bowl on the counter, so I decide to dig in because this morning I am really hungry. Grabbing the whole bowl, I sit gown next to my mother who is typing a word document on her Mac.

"So, who is your favorite teacher?" My father tries to make small talk with us.

Macy gives him a puzzled look, "Who are you talking to?"

"Oh. Um... all of you." he responds.

I have my answer almost immediately. "None." Ha! That wasn't hard.

Macy buts in, "I liked the one who taught my math class. I think her name was Mrs. Burmess... or Brussels? Or Bigel? I don't know."

Jon avoids interacting with our family at all times. "Woah, look at the time! I better go. Like. Now."

"Alright, Jonathan is right, you guys should leave so you aren't late for school." My mom packs her laptop in a bag that she brings to work every day.

"Love you kids." My dad keeps it short, but we all know that he means it.

"Bye." Macy and I say in unison.
