chapter 8

you walk to emily's apartment number 306, you hesitate for a second, but muster up the courage to knock on her door, suddenly the door swings open, standing there was emily, of course holding sergio for me, i look at him and pet his head, looking up at emily next, it takes everything in me to not hug her and start sobbing, you felt so bad for overreacting

"hey y/n/n" she moves to let you in, closes the door and drops sergio "can we talk about earlier" she asks quietly

you look at her, tears starting to well up and roll down your cheeks

"of course" you push out

you both walk over to the couch, she hands you a glass of wine, she had poured right before you came, in preparation for you, you smiled at her and took a sip as you sat down

"look, i just wanted to appologize for whatever i did that pissed you off, im so sorry" she says grabbing my hand

you stare at her for a second, finding the right words to say

"you did nothing wrong emily, it was my fault, i- today" you choked on your words "um today, is the anniversary of my sisters death, i get into a dark place around this time of year and start thinking that no one can truly love me and-"

she cuts me off with a light kiss

"im so sorry y/n, about your sister, but i need you to know that. i will always be there for you, and i will always love you" she pauses and smiles "what can i do to help?" she asks

you smile at her as she wipes away your tears, sergio hops onto the couch, lying down right between you and emily

"can- can we watch a movie" you ask petting sergio and smiling at him and then at emily

she hands you the remote "pick something good y/l/n, ill make some popcorn, ooh and get some more wine"

you laugh and hand her your glass, the apartment fills with the smell of rich buttery popcorn as you flick through different movies, until you land on a movie called 'before i fall' a cheesy romance movie, emily couldn't stand romance movies she always complained about how they all had the same plot and how horror movies are so much better, but you assumed she'd make an acception just this once, and just then she walked over

"ugh, a romance movie, boorringgg, you know they all have the same plot" she sat down "its so cheesy"

"cant you make an acception? just this once- for meeee?" you say throwing a piece of popcorn at her

"oh your dead meat y/l/n" she growls, starting to pelt you with popcorn

you jump off the couch running to take cover in her kitchen and giggling, but she finds you picking you up and kissing you, trailing her kisses down your neck, but you push her off

"bad girl! movie now, this-" you say waving your pointer finger in a circle at her "this later"

you grab her hand dragging her back to the couch and turning the lights off, hitting play on the remote snuggling up to her

"i can not stand you y/l/n" she rolls her eyes at you sarcastically and laughs

"no you don't, see you said earlier" you laugh " earlier, you said you loved me" you said in a sing songy voice and kissed her

"i mean how could you not, with you being all stupid and adorable" she said kissing me again

you both laughed and watched the movie, she was right it was the cheesiest movie ever, but still had you crying again, she threw popcorn at you and laughed

"your such a softie, i love it" she laughed and wiped away your tears

you looked up at her "you do not wanna start this again, prentiss, i will kill you" you sniffled and giggled

you looked into her eyes and kissed her "i love you em" you whispered into her lips

"i love you too" she smiled as she pulled away "and, okay if you don't want to thats fine but, i was thinking we tell the team" she paused "how does that sound?"

you looked at her "sounds great em, sounds great" you both cleaned up the mess you made and got ready for bed, she handed you one of her t-shirts and a package with a toothbrush in it, you both got changed and brushed your teeth and got into bed, you cuddled close to her, looking over your shoulder you kissed her

"goodnight emily, i love you" you smiled

"goodnight my love" she said kissing you on your forehead

okay, i absolutely LOVE this chapter, it was short again, BUT i'm so proud of it, it's clear i needed a break from writing because tbh this is my favorite chapter so far, thank you for reading it, i'm not gonna write any more tonight cause i have to be up early tomorrow but more chapters probably coming tomorrow or sunday!!!
