a few days had passed since the proposal, emily had called the two of you out sick for a day or two, to spend time together, because you knew the second that you told the team garcia would be all over you about dresses and venues and flowers and everything else, you had both promised to not be one of those couples who stayed engaged for like years for whatever reason, you said 6 months tops. that gave you time to let garcia shower you with pinterest boards that she created the second you announced you were dating.
but today was your first day back, and the day you were going to tell the team. you woke up at your usual time, rolling over and shaking emily awake, she groaned and rolled her eyes
"i don't want this to end" she mumbled groggily
"i know but we have to make money somehow" you said laughing
"its like were in this perfect little comfy bubble, and the second you mention work its just-" she makes a little popping sound with her mouth
you laugh, giving her a little kiss
"cmon" you say dragging her out of bed
she groans, trudging into the bathroom and turning on the shower, and peeling off her pajamas
you make your way downstairs and start the coffee maker so when you come back down there will be coffee for you
once thats done you head back upstairs to change, grabbing a dark green leather pencil skirt, and a slightly lighter green blouse tucking it in and throwing your hair into a low bun pulling free pieces to frame your face, putting on light makeup and some nude heels, and going downstairs to get some coffee and to wait for emily
after what feels like hours she makes her way downstairs, wearing a pair of black slacks, a white blouce and a black blazer on top. wearing her hair as she usually does, just middle parted, you hand her a cup of coffee, chugging the rest of your own
"were running late, no thanks to you" you say rolling your eyes jokingly
"shut up" she said pouring her coffee into a travel cup and grabbing the keys from the counter
you make your way down to the car, getting in and beginning the drive to the office
"you know- it never hit me until just now, until i was watching you drive, like just sitting here, that your mine- i mean i get to spend the rest of my life with you- until were gross and wrinkled" you said laughing
"theres no one id rather get gross and wrinkled with" she said grabbing your hand and smiling
you admire how the ring looks on your hand
you eventually make it to the office, parking and walking to the elevator in the parking garage hand in hand per usual.
you got into the building and made it past security. getting in the elevator and hitting the button for the respective floor, you did your best to conceal the ring so that no one figured out before you all publicly announced it, because you know that the second the team figured out penelope would be all over you about dresses, flowers, venue, and whatever else. and though you honestly couldn't be more excited to talk about those things
the doors opened and you both made your way into the bullpen, sitting down at your desks and butterflies beginning to erupt in your stomach at the thought of telling the team, have nervous and half excited
your phone suddenly went off a text from emily appearing on your phone

are you ready?
she looked up from her phone at you smiling
of course :)
its gonna be okay
i love you <3
love you <333
emily stood up smiling grabbing your hand
"guys, me and y/n have an announcement" she said
the whole team faced to look towards the two of you confused
you pulled your hand from behind your back displaying the ring on your hand
"were getting married!" she said happily
the bullpen erupted in a flurry of congratulations, and happy remarks
everyone standing up and hugging you guys
and just as you had predicted garia came flying out of her office, she somehow had made an entire pintrest board of wedding ideas, the day you guys officially announced you were dating, emily gave you a kiss, so happy you had told the team.
