Chapter Sixty Nine

I wait patiently by her doorstep. She had a pretty big house since Francesco is in the mafia but I'm sure she's working too.

I knock on the door again since there wasn't a response. Trying to reach her again while knocking the door, I begin to lose hope.

Turning on my heels, I make my way back to the car but someone yells my name. I turn back around and see Casey opening the door. I smile and make my way back to her house.

"Sorry, I was still sleeping." She yawns letting me in.

Once we get inside I looked around her house and I saw it was quite messy. Old food, dirty clothes. I look at her and sigh. Her hair looked pretty greasy and her white shirt was stained with many questionable colours. Not to mention she didn't smell great either.

"What happened between you and Francesco?" I ask once we enter her living room which had boxes of pizza, Chinese takeout and milkshake cups everywhere.

She shrugs pushing things off the couch and sitting down. I sit down next to her trying not to be mean. "What happened with you and Vincenzo?"

"We're on good terms. I also might be pregnant with his child." I sigh looking down and my flat stomach.

"Congratulations. You said something about your birthday next week? You having friends over?"

"Thanks, and it's this Friday. I've decided not to have a big birthday. Vincenzo wants me all to himself anyway." I chuckle.

She nods her head. "I'm surprised you're so free. I thought you'd be busy with the cult and everything."

"What cult? I don't really want to get tied up with Vincenzo's dirty business."

She looks at me confused then takes a bit out of a random pizza on her counter. "No," She replies with her mouth stuffed. "I mean you're gang. You do know you're the rightful ruler now that your dad is dead. If you said no then the man who took your father's life is the rightful ruler of his mafia. Both were you." She explains. "Vincenzo never told you?"

"No, he didn't," I mutter. 

Why do I ever think he'd tell me anything?

"Don't feel bad. All men are horrible." She spits stabbing the pizza with a random knife.

I take the knife from her and put it away. "What happened between you two?" I ask once more.

She slowly sighs and shuts her eyes. Then the tears began flooding out. Casey began breaking down and clinging onto my body as girls do in the movie. "He is such a complete utter asshole. He asked me to marry me, he said I'd be the only woman for him. Then he had that mission about you, faked dating you and fell in love with some other bitch and left me for her." She sobs, clinging to my shirt.

"I thought he loved me," She whispers.

"You know, that's not the only reason Vincenzo hates his guts. It's because he ditched you for someone else, without thinking about what he's created with you." I explain, stroking her hair.

She sat up and looked at me. "Well, Vincenzo is a good person. You guys are great together." She smiles. "I don't want to be hung up on a guy who doesn't give a shit about me. When you and Vincenzo fight what do you usually do?"

I think back to the times I literally went stripping. I couldn't believe how stupid I was.

"Have no idea," I shrug. "You can't force yourself to move on Casey. Breakups are a long painful process. After you get better, you spend time with the people that love you and when you're comfortable dating again you go for it." I advise.

Looking around her mess, she was coming to terms that she was losing herself because of a Francesco who I couldn't be as close with anymore for her. "Help me clean up? I'll buy us something healthy afterwards," She smiles.

Low-key, I missed Casey so much. I won't be doing any more character aesthetics. She has strawberry blonde hair, freckles and hazel eyes.

Exams are finally over so I'll go back to posting regularly starting Monday. I'll be posting Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and if we go this way... THE BOOK WILL BE FINISHED NEXT WEEK!!! 

I'M SO EXCITED TO START THE SECOND BOOK WHICH WILL BE ABOUT CARLOTA SANTIAGO. You guys are going to love her story trust me. She's my favourite character I've ever written and her story is actually interesting.
