Chapter Twenty One

"Arabella?" His voice asks.

I snap my head up and begin to smile. "How are you?" I ask him wiping the tears from my eyes.

He sits up and rubs his head. "Mr Varallo, you have to rest." I beg him.

"Why are you crying?" He questions. "Did I hurt you?"

I raise my brow and immediately shake my head. "It wasn't your fault." I protest.

"What did I do?"

I pause and break eye contact with him. "You just said you didn't need me anymore so I was thinking maybe I should resign."

There was a brief moment of silence between us before he told me to come sit next to him on his bed. I protested but he insisted.

"Listen, anything I said was out of anger. I need you with me Arabella. I've never felt this safe with anyone in a very long time. You make me a better person and you make me happy." He confesses while holding my hand to show his sincerity.

"Are you sure you want me to be here with you?"

He smiles and uses his free hand to hold my face. "Not just as my personal assistant." He pulls me in for a small kiss.

"As much as you know I'd want this," I begin as I move my hand away. "I think it's best if we keep this professional because we aren't good for each other."

A hint of disappointment is visible in his eyes and then suddenly disappears. "And I'll start by getting you an actual therapist. I made a mistake by trying to do a job I wasn't trained to do."

"Okay." He replies.

"I know it's late but do you still want dinner?"

"I want to go for a drive." He gets out of bed and rummages for a shirt.

"Do you want to talk to me about what triggered your break down?" He looks back at me and rolls his eyes. "It'll make you feel better." I recommend.

"Nope." He picks up his phone and leaves his room.

"See you later." I whisper, despite me being the only person here.

Short chapter, I know. 

I realized this book might be completed in May, and I don't want that. I want this book completed ASAP because I really want to start putting the Spin-off on Wattpad. Stay tuned for that one because that one is much more crazier and inappropriate than this one :)
