9.Act nine

vanyas eyes landed on fives blood that was stained on his clothes, and sleeve. Vanya questioned "is that blood?" Five looked down "it's nothing... Lia healed it." He assured her. "Why are you here?" Five sighed and said " I've decided you're the only one I can trust." Vanya looked at Alyssa, Alyssa shrugged her shoulders. "Why me?" "Because you're ordinary." Vanya looked offended. Alyssa blootered him "five!?" She sibilated at him. Five grunted from the blooter. "because you'll listen" he rephrased.  Vanya nodded in response, before she got up to go to the bathroom. Leaving the two in silence, while looking at each other.

The women came back with wipes in her hand, sitting back down, only Alyssa grabbed the wipes from her and wiped the blood off of him. "When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future...do you know what I found?" Vanya looked at him and mumbled "no." "Nothing....absolutely nothing" Five answered, he pressed his lips together and continued.

Five remembering all those memories was horrifying, he couldn't even imagine how he'd feel like if he ever found the love of his life's body. Instantly Alyssa tensed a bit, her fast bouncing toes toes, chewing on her top lip, She was uncomfortable didn't like those words, her hands starting to sweat a little. "as far as I could tell, I was the last person left alive" Alyssa panicked, playing with her hands trying to calm herself down before her breath would hitch. " I never figured out what killed the human race, but...I did find something else." "The date it happens." The world ends in eight days, and I have no idea how it's too it."

Alyssa never expected those words to come out of fives mouth. But what scared her the most was not seeing her siblings, mom, pogo, or five ever again if the world would end. Question after question came upon her head.Vanyas mouth hung open. Silence filled the room the two women pretty shocked.

" I'll put on a pot of coffee."

"I survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, Anything I could find." Five chuckled. "You know that rumor that twinkies have an endless shelf life? Well, it's total bullshit." "I can't even imagine" vanya spoke out. "You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die. So we adapted. Whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it." "We?" Vanya questioned while looking at Alyssa expecting a reaction from her. Five disregard her question, sighed lifting his cup "you got anything stronger?" Vanya poured fives drink filling the room with the sound of it, handing it to five. Five drank the liquid, the alcohol burning his throat.

Vanyas didn't know if she should believe him or not. Five scoffed "you think I'm crazy."  "No." Vanya stammers " it's just...it's a lot to take in."  " exactly what don't you understand?" Five asked with now a belligerent tone, Alyssa grabbing his hand calming him. Alyssa wasn't trying to be mean but she agreed with him. "Why didn't you just time travel back?" Alyssa let a quiet scoff escape her lips. As for five scoff, sighed "gee, wish I'd thought of that. Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and never acorned. You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family? to her?"

Alyssas heart ached, it hurt hearing those words, she can't even form a mental picture of how he felt alone, if only he knew she would've done anything to bring him black to her, she loved him with her whole heart. The air was thick hard for Alyssa to breath. "If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?" "I told you already." He made known as he was walking to the counter behind Vanya. He sighed "I must have got the equations wrong." "I mean, dad always used to say that...time travel could mess up your mind." vanya said simultaneously as five was pouring his beverage. "Well, maybe that's what's happening?"

He turned around, Five now sauntering towards Alyssa grabbing her hand, taking her with him. "Too naive to understand." Five said as both of them were approaching the door. " no. Five...Alyssa, wait. I haven't seen both of you in a long time, and I don't want to lose you both again." Vanya said with a more upset tone. "That's all. And you know what, it's getting late, and...I have lessons early, and I need to sleep, and I am sure both of you do, too." "here." "We'll talk in the morning again. Okay? I promise." Vanya mentioned the second she was laying blankets out for both her siblings. Vanya walking slowly by five and Alyssa. "night." Vanya managed to say. "night." Both the girl and boy aforesaid back. Watching as vanya approached her bedroom door opening it and the sound of a closed door filled the room.

Five and Alyssa still holding hands. Both convoying to the sofa, as soon as they reached the sofa they sat down. Alyssa laying her head on fives shoulder. Five taking an eye out of his pocket. He sighed while he was looking at it. Alyssa starting to doze off. Five whispered to her "let's go Lia" "hmm...oh ok." Five held her hand both ushering to the door, twisting the door knob opening the door softly not wanting to to catch Vanyas attention, and terminate the door stilly.
