Once again, Dream had a restless night. On one hand, the Manhunt Enterprises are almost his only ticket find the people that murder his family. But, on the other, being with George has made him feel the happiest he's felt in years, maybe even decades. He wants to have a life with George, but that life can't happen if continues to work there. He looked around the room. It was dark, and so big, yet so small. He felt like a small pebble in a wide ocean. A small, worthless, confused pebble, who doesn't know what it wants.
A dark figure suddenly crept through Dream's room. Dream pulled out his axe, his wave of depression not diminishing his fighting spirit. The figure took flight and hovered over the bed, stopping at the side of the bed. Dream turned on the light and revealed a very familiar sight for him.
"Mom?"
"Hello son."
"But, how... who did... why-"
The mother put his hands on Dream's lips and calmed the kid down.
"Don't worry son, I'm here. I've heard that you've been pretty upset as of late."
"It's George, mom. I think I might love him. But he doesn't want me."
"Oh, is that so?"
"Well, he does, but he's too scared of me dying to have a relationship with me."
"Because you're in the Manhunt Enterprises?"
"Yeah."
"Let me ask you this, you love George, right?"
"Yeah?"
"You're happier with me, right?""Yes."
"Then leave. Get out of the Manhunt Enterprises."
"But... but... they'll track me down, they kill me, like they did with George's past lover."
"Dream, you're the best in the business, you're the muscle and bones of the company. Do you think they'll come to get you, and win?"
"But what about you? Someone's out there that killed you and dad, and my brother, and my sister-"
"Son, son, don't you think we would've liked you to sacrifice your life and own happiness to avenge us? Maybe your father," she chuckled a bit, "but not me. We're proud of you either way, you have nothing to prove to us."
Dream smiled then, his eyes getting watery.
"So, should I leave Mom?"
"Go for it kiddo."
"Thanks Mom."As he said that, she vanished completely, leaving no trace of her or her presence.
The next morning, George met Dream in the kitchen, where he awkwardly looked at the smiling Dream.
"Hey Dream. Look Dream, I'm really sorry about last night. I should've been mo-"
"I quit."
"Huh?""I quit. I quit the Manhunt Enterprises."
"Wait, I don't understand..."
"I quit the Manhunt Enterprises. I'm done. We can live a life together George.""What? But won't they hunt you down?"
"I know a place far away from here we can go. We can wear disguises, we'll be safe safe George. We'll be happy."
Both started crying with tears going down their face running down their faces.
"Alright Dream. Let's do it."
The two kissed, a new beginning to their lives blossoming.
