"Cat Noir? Why do you need to find him?" Alya asks, looking away from her laptop.
"The other day, when Stoneheart was at the bakery, Cat Noir saved my life. Stone heart was inches away from grabbing me when Cat Noir came and drew him away - and I don't know what would've happened if he hadn't. The thing is, I was so terrified from Stoneheart that I couldn't even say thank you to Cat Noir. Now, I feel like I owe him that much, but I have no idea where to find him."
"Ohhh, that makes sense. The only thing is, you can't exactly find Cat Noir somewhere... no one knows who he is or where he hangs out," She says, shrugging her shoulders.
We both sit there thinking for a second.
Alya's eyes widen, and a smile crosses her face.
"I know just what you should do!"
"Shhhh!"
We turn our heads to see another student glaring at us, clearly trying to work on a project. This is the library, afterall.
"You do?" I say quietly.
"Yep. You know how he can like, jump super high and stuff?"
"Uh, yeah I think I remember him doing that when he was running away from Stoneheart. Why?"
"Well, he tends to roam all over the city on the rooftops. What you should do is - you should leave something on your balcony thanking him, and I'm sure he'll see it as he roams the city! He'll have to notice it eventually."
"Leave something for him on my balcony..." I whisper to myself. That doesn't sound like a bad idea.
"-Maybe I could give him a gift."
"Sure! Who doesn't like gifts? I'm sure he'll appreciate that."
"What does he like though? Do you know any foods or things he would want?"
Alya places a hand on her chin, her face in full concentration.
"I don't ever see him eat, or do really anything besides fighting bad guys. I say just go with your gut. I'm sure he'll like whatever you give him," She smiles, giving me a wink.
"I sure hope so. Whenever I figure it out, I'll let you know."
"Sounds good," She nods. "Wait! I almost forgot, today is National Superhero day! They're having this huge parade for Ladybug and Cat Noir after school, and I'm sure they'll be there!" She whispers excitedly, leaning towards me.
I can feel my energy matching hers. "Are you serious?? They'll be in the parade?" I grin.
"I can almost guarantee it. You have to come with us! You might be able to see Cat Noir!"
"You and Marinette are going together?"
"No, sadly she has to babysit tonight. I'm going with Nino and a few of our other friends from class. Do you want to go with us?"
"Heck yeah I do!" I say beamingly.
"Awesome! I'm hoping to get some good footage for the Ladyblog," She says, turning back to her laptop and typing away. "This blog is definitely a full time job. I've got to keep my viewers entertained 24/7!"
I smile as I watch her type away at a new article. I might be able to actually see Cat Noir again, and this time I won't be scared for my life. I don't know how to explain it, but something inside me feels... different. It feels like... something special is coming.
***
After school I meet Alya outside of the entrance, where she's standing with Nino, Rose, Juleka, Max, Kim, and Alix. I wanted to get to know them a bit better while we were together but there was no time as we had to scramble to get to the parade.
