"Are you alright, Miss?" He says, looking concerned.

I nod slightly.

"I guess I got here just in time. Take everyone and hide somewhere, quick. I'll handle rocky over here," he says, smirking as he faces the monster.

Though still stunned, I start backing away as the monster gets on its feet and towers over Cat Noir angrily. If I were him, I'd be scared for my life - but he stands confident, unfazed. His golden hair glistens in the sunlight.

"I didn't think you'd make a reappearance, Stoneheart. How about you pick on someone your own size?"

Stoneheart grunts furiously at this, but before he could try to squash Cat Noir like a bug, Cat Noir dodges him and starts sprinting down the street. Stoneheart follows after him, his giant feet pounding into the ground with every step. I hear as his loud footsteps get quieter and quieter, and finally I'm able to take a breath.

I turn around to see about a dozen terrified faces. I feel the same way, but after that experience I feel able to finally get a grip.

"It's okay, everyone. Cat Noir is handling it now. Let's gather around the back of the store while we wait for it to be over," I say reassuringly. Alya runs downstairs, and once she sees me she hurries over and entraps me in a hug.

"Oh my gosh, I heard the glass break and saw the monster from upstairs. Did he hurt you, y/n?" She asks worriedly.

"No no, I'm alright. Cat Noir came before anything could happen."

She releases a big sigh. "Phew. Just like I told you, you can always count on our supers to save the day," she says.

Thankfully. I thought I was about to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I nod. "Where's Marinette?"

She looks around. "I'm not sure, I haven't seen her. She wasn't upstairs just now." Hearing this results in a drop in my stomach.

We look around the store again, searching for a special blue haired girl. But she was nowhere to be found.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. After waiting for a while in the bakery, there were tons of little ladybugs that came and restored all the damage "Stoneheart" had caused. I never saw Marinette afterwards... so I was praying that she was somewhere safe. I told Alya to let me know if she heard from her. Eventually I went home and hugged my parents, had dinner, and got ready for bed.

What happened today... I wasn't prepared for. I guess I'll have to get used to it, since I live here now.

I don't know why I froze like that. I've always been quick on my feet, able to stand my ground in tough situations. Why couldn't I move?

The same image circles around in my head.

Cat Noir, and his intense green eyes. Amongst a moment of fear and violence, he could find the joy to smile.

The image of him lingers in my mind as I fall into bed. My black cat, Celeste, jumps on the bed and curls up next to me.

I have a new sense of gratitude the next day. I don't know what would've happened if Cat Noir hadn't showed up, and I don't want to. All I know is I'm going to appreciate every moment I have, and I won't let this life slip away from me that easy.

I go to school like usual, and today the sky is crystal clear. When I walk into class I'm incredibly happy to see Marinette sitting in her spot, looking completely normal.
