"I wonder what's taking him so long..." Yeji mumbled as we shuffled closer to the counter.

"Number forty seven!" We heard the counter attendant call as she slid a cardboard cup holder across the counter before darting back to prepare another one.

"Don't worry," I reassured Yeji, "i'm sure he's fine."

"No, no, you don't understand... my brother has a knack for getting himself into trouble. That's why I always gotta keep a close eye on him."

Getting into trouble? I'm not too sure about that. It seems to me that he's quite the trouble-maker himself.

"Why don't you go find him?" I suggested, noticing her worried expression, "I'll stay in line so you don't lose your spot."

She contemplated it for a moment, before nodding in agreement.

"That'd be great, Mei. I'll be back soon."

As she turned to leave, a finger tapped me on the shoulder.

"Excuse me?" Said an impatient voice from behind me.

I turned around to face the stranger.

"Could you do me a favor and save my spot too? I've been stuck here for like half an hour now," she rolled her eyes.

"Sure, no proble-" i began.

"Mine too, please," interjected a teenage girl, holding a phone against one ear while the other hand carried a bag full of goodies.

"Uhh, okay."

"And also my cousin's," she added quickly.

"Your cousin? I asked, "Okay, but where are they?"

She seemed to have paid no attention to my question as she left the queue, whispering excitedly into her phonecall.

"You hear that, Charlie? I got thirteenth row from the front to save you a spot, now get your ass over here!"

Before she disappeared from sight, however, the girl did a 180 and yelled something out to me.

"Hey, if I don't make it back in time for my turn, would you be a sweetheart and get me a grande?"

I hesitated, before signaling her a thumbs up.

I couldn't just say no, right? I wouldn't want to disappoint her.
