"you want me, and you will indulge in me," he whispered.

A powerful gust of wind followed, disheveling my dress and spraying my hair in all directions. Reminding me of all the things I had no control over.

I want him.

My fate, that decided my course for me.

I... do?

The series of misfortunes that unavoidably befall me.

No...

That's not what I want.

My fate, which was predetermined. The way I respond to it, however, was something I could control.

Why am I even questioning this?

Control.

I was under his control.

I closed my eyes shut and the intense staring contest came to an end.

"Keep your eyes on mine," he ordered.

"So you can feed me more lies?" I rebuked.

A hint of surprise glinted in his eyes before they grew dark again.

"I'm the liar?" He chuckled.

Whoosh

His figure vanished and reappeared within seconds, but not alone. With him was a wild deer, so elegant and graceful, lifted in his arms as though it were as light as a feather. It shuddered and stirred in his grasp, as if sensing the amount of danger it was in.

I gulped nervously.

He's not about to do what I think he's gonna do, right?

"You're a vampire, aren't you Misaki?" Taehyung said, his voice consumed by sarcasm. His eyes scanned the deer as he gently stroked its beautiful brown fur. "Then you wouldn't mind if I did this."

His mouth stretched open dangerously wide and, without a hint of hesitation, he sank his sharp teeth into the animal's flesh.

"Taehyung, NO!" I screamed, clutching my fists tightly to my chest.

A deep grunt escaped the deer's mouth as the vampire ripped apart its skin and bones, growing more and more impatient with every drop of blood that entered his system. His fingers dug into its skin like claws, preventing its prey from slipping away. Overhead, a flock of birds took flight, making noises of distress as they fled from the area.

The body of the deer fell upon the forest floor with a low thud, staining the crumpled leaves and detritus with a river of fresh blood.

My gaze met with the slaughterer, whose face was expressionless. He extended his hand at what was left of the lifeless deer.

"You're a vampire, right? Would you like a taste?"

At this point, an ordinary person would have passed out, but this was nothing I had not seen before. Alas, everything seemed to die around me. My life must have been cursed since the day I was born...

As I concentrated on stabilizing my breathing, I inhaled the metallic scent that lingered in the air. It was indeed very enticing, just like earlier.

Earlier, when I succumbed to the pot in Seokjin's kitchen that was kindly inviting me for a drink.

I had been so close.

So close.

Another gust of wind blew over me, evoking some sense into my unconscious mind.
