I was standing outside on a big field with Marina, I was still slightly pissed she said yes to both of us going dress-shopping with Suzy and Jennifer. I can't stand them. But I brushed it off, she couldn't do anything else. We were having PE.
This might just be my favorite subject, finally something I'm good at.
"Okay class, quiet down a bit" the gym teacher said, she was a middle aged woman with short grey hair, glasses and tight sitting gym clothes. "As a warmup we are gonna do a jog around the building" she said. YES OH MY GODS, RUNNING, THAT'S WHAT I'M GOOD AT. HERMES POWER BECOMING USEFUL. I looked over at Bluegirl that was wearing dark blue sweatpants and a black crop hoodie with a band called NCT on it. I myself was wearing big basketball shorts and an oversized mustard yellow t-shirt. We gave each other a look that said 'this is gonna be easy'. We ran together around the building in front of everyone else. We were the first to come back from the run and the teacher gave us a sceptical look "and you guys ran aaall the way in 7 minutes?" she asked "yes Mrs. Parker'' Marina said "You ran 3 kilometers in 7minutes" the teacher crossed her arms, "yes Mrs." I said "Don't lie to my face!" she was getting quite angry "I promise, we are not lying!" Marina exclaimed "NO! run around the building again!" Mrs. Parker yelled. And here I was thinking it was gonna be a good lesson. We ran around the block again, this time coming back and seeing that a small handful of athletic kids were back. Mrs. Parker looked at us again as if we did something wrong "you've got to be kidding me! I thought you guys would learn!" She exclaimed "That's detention for both of you" "WHAT? we did what you told us!" Marina yelled back "it's true Mrs! I saw them running myself, and so did the others!" a random boy said.
He was clearly Mrs. Parker's favourite student, because when Mrs Parker turned around to look at him she smiled sweetly (a side of her I've never seen before)
"Jazon, deary" she sighed "you're such a good classmate, but you don't need to back them up... I got this" she turned back to us and her smile disappeared just as quickly as it arrived "as i was saying-'' she got cut off again, this time by another guy on crutches, with thick curly hair, orange t-shirt and extra baggy sweatpants. "I-i-i saw them too Mrs. Parker, I was sitting on the bench and I saw them run by. You were the one who gave me the duty of watching for any people who tried to cheat. And if they skipped, I would tell you!" he must have gotten the task of watching us since he is on crutches and wow a lot of people are defending us.
Mrs. Parker sighed again this time more aggressively "I guess I was wrong!" she clearly didn't like the defeat "but I will be keeping an eye on you two..." she points at me and Bluegirl as she walks away. I look at Marina "that was a ride" I laugh "next time, run more slow!" she whisper-yells "as if it was all my fault" I whisper back, when we hear a "psst" followed by a louder "PSST!" we look over and see the guy on crutches waving us over to some bushes. Marina starts walking over to him and whispers under her breath "knew it...",
I followed her "knew what?" she doesn't answer. We stood over by some bushes and he looked around, like he was scared he was gonna get caught. "ok-ok- uuuhm" he started "wait- I am being impolite! My name is Týr!" He put his hand out for us to shake "Nice to meet you, I'm Marina" Marina shook his hand quickly "I'm Autumn" I took his hand too, it was a little sweaty - like he was nervous. "So I have to get you guys to follow me, and I swear i'm not a creep but you guys aren't normal" he said quickly and was almost out of breath after. wait... I've had this talk before- OMG I THINK HE'S A SATYR. "Don't worry Týr, I'm pretty sure both me and Autumn already know what you're about to say don't be nervous" Marina had said and then I knew I was right "really?" Týr asked as he let out a sigh of relief "I was also a little unsure, since you're a little older than most when we find them. But just to be clear you guys know you are demigods? Then you must also know that I'm a satyr" He asked, Marina nodded "No wait I didn't know!" I joke and pretended to be offended, before M gave me an elbow in the side and we all laughed.
"Are you guys also here because of all the monsters in this area?" Týr questioned. Marina and I look at each other confused "No? what do you mean monsters?" Marina asked with a sceptical look "...oh- OOH-..styx-crap-gods" Týr cussed at himself and took his crutches and said "nICE TALKING TO YOU" and he ran over to Jazon.
The rest of the class went smooth, but I couldn't get the monster thing out of my head, and I could tell M was feeling the same way.
