Taiju and Yuzuriha were two voices I hadn't heard for over a year now. Sometimes when I worked, I forgot about them all together - sometimes I even forgot about Tsukasa. But when the two heard Senku's voice and their cries resonated through the phone, I couldn't help but smile. The phone worked, and the two partners weren't alone anymore.
But, when Taiju pulled himself together and explained the current situation, any other people out of sight and the phone buried underground, a wave of fear ran over me. But, Tsukasa couldn't have gotten to them, or the phone would have been found destroyed. They hid the phone because their position was compromised... but by who?
"Rina." Senku called out, turning from the phone, "Any thoughts on what might have happened?"
I pressed my hands together, "The one person set to guard the edges of the area was Ukyo... he wields a bow and arrow with extreme precision, and his hearing is insanely well off. If something happened, any type of loud noise, he would have come after them."
"Is he anything like Tsukasa?"

"Where do you think you're going?"
"Why do you even care?"
"You won't be able to survive out there on your own."

"I... I don't know." I replied, frowning.
"It's alright. I'm sure they'll find a way to pull through."

Despite Senku's encouraging words, I started pacing. Taiju and Yuzuriha already had someone they wanted to bring to the kingdom of science, and everything was set up. All we needed was Gen, but we had no way of knowing if they were okay or not. As far as I know, Ukyo isn't the type to shoot for the kill - especially not with some random human.
I'm sure, he'd want to capture them for information first.
But then if he succeeds, are all of them going to end up prisoners? What then?
I turned from the ground as I paced and looked up as the bushes on the edge of the area started to shake, and Gen came stumbling through. He was out of breath, covered in dirt from slipping over the sludge of half melted snow and holding his exhausted body up with a long, thick stick.
"Gen!" I gasped, but despite how he looked he just smiled,
"So, Senku-chan. Who's the first one I need to win over?"
I pursed my lips and quickly ran off to grab some water. I came back with a small towel and a cup of fresh water, which he chugged back quickly. I rose the cloth to his face as he swallowed, finally managing to catch his breath. I wiped his forehead gently, and he sighed in relief,
"Thank you, Rina-chan." His eyes were gentle, they always seemed gentle with me, and I hoped in that moment that he'd never give anyone else such a look.
"You're welcome." I replied, "Are you sure you're alright?"
He nodded, "I'm fine. I just hope the same for Chrome and Magma." And then he grinned suddenly, "Did I worry you? I see you have the flower in your hair."
I blushed lightly, looking to the side, "Of course I was worried."
"Come on, Gen!" Senku called from the tower, "It's almost time!"

In no time at all, the engine and steam gorilla machine car had been made.
The first recruitment mission was a success, despite the woman being a super fan of Lillian's, we had a step ahead. Senku and the villagers began preparations for our advancement, and even though I tried to tell them that I should probably stay behind, Kohaku wasn't having any of it. I was going with them, because they needed all the hands they could get, even if I wasn't going to be fighting. When I saw her sister was going too, I relaxed.
Magma had returned and was gung-ho about going back to save Chrome, who gave himself up as a distraction so Magma could get away, and was most likely being held prisoner now. Everyone was worried about him, but they seemed confident nonetheless. Senku had pretty much buttered everyone up so that they wouldn't doubt their ability to win.
Their eyes were determined.
But all I could think about was how everyone who thought I was dead, was surely going to know soon that I wasn't.
