Special Chapter #2

Timeline: Chapter 13, continuation of balcony scene

"Tell me everything, Hyesung. I'm listening." Baro spoke with a soft voice. He watched the girl fidgeting in her seat, visibly uncomfortable.

"It's okay, you can trust me," Baro said again.

"He lied to me. He said he loves me, but he doesn't." Hyesung finally opened her mouth. The other stayed silent, giving her a chance to let out everything she had been keeping in.

"We started as strangers. My mother was the one that introduced him to me. She told me he's a successful businessman and got the look too. She thought it would be perfect if she matched us together."

"I believe her because she's my mother. All the things she does are for me and my future. So, I accept her request. We got engaged after two times seeing each other and our wedding was said to be held a month after that."

"But before a month could end, he began to show his true colours. At first, I thought it was normal for him to call and invite me to his house, but I thought wrong. Very wrong to the point that I could lose my virginity to a bastard like him."

Baro frowned as he listened to her story, clenching his teeth. A single tear dropped down Hyesung's cheek which she quickly wiped away and chuckled before continuing.

"It didn't end there though. I refused to have sex with him, making him go mad. He started to hit me, leaving ugly bruises and scars all over my body. I didn't get to tell my mother because I know she won't be able to accept the fact that her choice turned out to be some monster."

Hyesung went on telling the whole story, from how she tried to escape to when she met Baro. The night when she saved Baro was the same night she knocked off her fiancee using a bed lamp and flee from the hell on earth she's been trapped in.

After that, she realised she fell in love with Baro and coincidentally, Sunyoung who was her friend, knew Sandeul, Baro's stepbrother.

"Close the book, Hyesung. I'll buy you a new one and we gonna write together. Will you accept me as your partner and guardian?" Baro said, his voice filled with sincerity from the bottom of his heart.

"I've decided to trust you a long time ago, Baro. I want to depend on you and spend the rest of my life with you. The answer is yes, chipmunk." She winked and they smiled at each other, watching the night view of Seoul.

Timeline: Chapter 1, the day they were kicked out from the house

"Father doesn't deserve you, btch!" Baro lashed out, earning a slap from the said 'btch'.

"Hey!" Sandeul stepped forward, pushing his brother behind him. He eyed their stepmother, giving the coldest glare he could.

The staring contest went on until the mother snapped, calling her bodyguards with a shout. Four men in black suits and earpieces came running from every direction, standing firmly behind their employer.

"Chase them out." the wicked woman commanded.

The four men nodded in response. They charged forward and surrounded the stepbrothers, causing them to step back. Sandeul raised his hand to the air, stopping the men.

"We'll get out of this house, at least give us time to pack our things," he said with an unwavering voice.

The men turned to the mistress, waiting for her next command. She smirked, showing a bit of her canine tooth.

"You have no belongings here, my dear." she mocked before signing her men to proceed to evict them.

They caught Sandeul and Baro, dragging them towards the exit. They both had no strength to fight back since the four men were more built and muscular.

"You will pay for this, witch!" Baro spat as he watched his stepmother disappeared into the hallway of the mansion.

"You suck old woman! You will die in my hand!" Baro's shout echoed through the house. He mouthed a string of profanities before they were completely out of the house.

"Hey Sandeul, should we break in through the roof?" Baro asked.

Sandeul shrugged his shoulders. He's too angry to say anything.

"Fck! That btch is going to get her punishment one day. I'll make sure of it." Baro spat.

"Let's go, Baro."

"Where to?"

"Anywhere. As long as not here. I'm sick of this place." Sandeul walked away with the other following him.

They arrived at a motel where Sandeul suggested for them to spend a night here. He told Baro about an apartment that they can rent and they will go there as soon as the sun rises.

Baro threw himself on the bed, sighing heavily. Sandeul took a seat on the chair, mimicking his brother's action.

"What will we do after this, hyung?" Baro asked.

"We'll go to the apartment tomorrow and find a job. We work hard and gain money, live like normal people and let go of our old lives." Sandeul said in one breathe.

"How about father?"

"He's smart enough to not get killed."

And that's how their new life started.
