The Bridge

I felt a hand touch my face
"Logan. Logannn." It was Ellie's touch
"Shit. I'm up i'm up"
"They said it's time to go"
"Okay." I took a deep breath as I gathered my things.
"How's the leg?" Henry motioned to my leg.
"It's better, I can walk better."
"Good."
"You ever do this before?"
"Um... Yeah."
"Well that's reassuring."
"Relax, we'll be fine."
"Just hope you know the way."

We left the room and saw two hunters standing next to a fire.
Joel motioned to me to take out the guy on the left, so i walked quietly and stabbed him in the neck from behind.
"Alright let's go." Henry whispered and walked out the side door.
"Do you see the guy on the light?" I asked Joel
"Yeah, i'm thinking you take him out and we take out the rest." I nodded and grabbed my pistol and shot at the person on the light.

Henry and Joel shot all of the other hunters.
"Holy shit we made it." Henry sounded surprised.
"Alright, let's open the door." Joel and I pushed the large metal door open, as we heard the mounted gun approaching us.
"Shit shit, come on get through!" I grabbed Ellie's arm and pulled her behind me.
Joel pulled the lock down on the door.
"Alright kids, get on up."
Joel boosted Henry and Sam and I boosted Ellie.
As Ellie climbed up, the ladder on the side of the truck fell, leaving Joel and I stranded. We nodded at each other as we pulled out our guns and looked for a way out.
"We gotta get them up." Ellie said
"Uh... uh..." Henry paced back and fourth.
"We're leaving. I'm sorry"
"What the fuck Henry?" Ellie screamed at him as he walked away.
I heard her jump down and land next to me.
"We stick together."
"Ellie what the fuck are you doing?! Why didn't you go with them?" I looked at her as Joel walked away finding a garage door chain.
"I can't lose you again."
"LOGAN!" I heard Joel call for me but I just stared at Ellie.
"Just, stay behind me" She nodded at me, and I ran to Joel.
"Help me pull this up" I grabbed the garage door as they went through. Joel grabbed it from the other side, and I slid through.

We ran until we ended up at the
middle of the bridge but it was split in two, and there was a raging river at the bottom.
"What do we do now?"
"Logan, help Ellie over and she can go around."
"No! We can jump."
"No it's too high and you can't swim" I told Ellie
"You'll keep me afloat."
"No Ellie, try to get around."
"No time to argue." Ellie jumped.
"ELLIE!" I jumped in after her and so did Joel.
"Logan!" She called after me as she was trying to keep herself up.
"I gotcha." I grabbed her in front of me as we were racing towards a piece of rock, knocking me out cold.

I woke up on sand, coughing up water.
"Hey you. We made it." Ellie touched my shoulder.
"See, told you he would make it." Henry said and Joel was standing next to him with his hands on his hips, looking at the ground.
I got pissed off so i shoved Henry to the ground taking his gun.
"Hey!" Sam called out as I pointed the gun at Henry.
"Stay back!" I yelled at Sam but Ellie ran up to me.
"You see he's pissed but he's not gonna do anything." Henry had his hand up.
"You sure about that?"
"Coming back for you meant putting him at risk- stay back- if it was the other way would you have come back for us? I saved you." Ellie put her hand on my back lightly.
"He saved me too. We woulda drowned."
I looked at her and then at Joel, and back at Henry, throwing his gun at him.
"You pull some shit like that again and i will cut you." I walked away in anger. Ellie followed.
"Hey. Logan. Look at me." She turned me around.
"What?" I was still angry.
She planted a kiss on my cheek, melting me on the inside, making me forget about the anger.
As she pulled away she looked into my eyes.
I put my hands on her waist.
"You okay?" She had her arms around my neck.
"Ellie, I-" I cleared my throat as Joel, Henry and Sam walked up to us.
"We're gonna search this side, you two search that one." Joel motioned to a boat that was on the sand.
We nodded and did as we were told.

After searching the boat, we were called by Henry.
"Hey guys, get over here!"
We ran towards him.
"Yeah?"
"I think this goes through."
Joel and Henry walked grabbed the door to the sewer pipe, letting us in and closing it behind us.
