Chapter 5

*3 days later*

Its been three days since me and Jake have been trapped, we get one meal a day, get punished like 50 times a day, my back has scars from a whip. I was taken to Jacob and I ignored him and he beat me with a whip, my face has bruises all over, my lip is split open, I have a black eye, and well I cant feel my leg. Jake on the other hand he had scars all over him, his lip is cut in 10 places, his face has bruises too, and he did it for me, he didn't want to see me get hurt.

I looked over to Jake who was sleeping, I think it was 2am or something like that, my hand went to his hair as I stroked it. I heard Scout bark so I got up and walked over to him, "hey boy" I said, he barked "I know I look pretty bad, but we will get out of here, I promise." I told him and he barked again, I put my hand in the cage and he licked my hand. I sat down and cried, Jake heard me and came over and sat beside me "Destiny..." I look at him and cried into his shoulder, "I can't do this anymore Jake, I can't even feel my arm" I said. He lifted my head with his hand and said "Listen, I told you I would never leave you, and that I'd get us out of here and well im trying. I just don't want to see you get hurt anymore" he kissed my head and he stood up, he reached out his hand and helped me up too. I stood up and at that time two men came in. "come on lets go, boss wants you" They knew we were too weak to put up a fight or run away so they stood behind us and brought the dogs cage, we were standing in front of Jacob once again. We were just standing looking at each other till he spoke up, "Well Thomas and Laurie should be here soon." And after he said that the doors opened to show my 'parents' they walked over to us and my 'mom' slapped me hard across the face. I winced in pain as she walked over to my 'dad'. Jacob and Thomas started talking about what to do when Laurie came over and said "so this is the guy that has been helping you??" she looked at Jake and he looked at me, I saw how scared he looked and I feel bad for putting this on him, so I said "Listen whatever your gunna do, do it to me, not him. He doesn't need to be punished" Thomas came over and stood right up close to me. "He knows too much, and he's been helping you, plus he knows who you are" He said, I didn't want Jake to get hurt anymore but he said, "Sir Destiny doe-" I interrupted him and said "He only knows my name, I just met him. I have no idea who he is." I said looking over to Jake. It looked like he was going to say something but he didn't want to. "Still..... alright Billy!" Thomas said. And a man came over and Thomas said "take him over there, and take the dogs too" so Billy took Jake and the dogs over across a bridge in the warehouse. I looked up to Thomas and he pulled out a gun, he pointed it at me "THOMAS" Laurie yelled. "WHAT?!!?!?!?" He yelled, I took the time when they were fighting to look around and I saw something in the background move, I looked closer and it looked like five people coming over here. "HEY!" I yelled and Thomas looked at me "what?" "when I was young you took me in exchange for your daughter right?" I said, I knew this was risky but it was worth it. I felt like those five people were here to help me. "Who told you that?" Thomas said, "I saw it in the newspaper, and you only took me cause you knew that when I turn sixteen you'd be able to kill me Right?" "YOU KNOW WHAT YOU JUST SHUT THE FU-" "THOMAS" Laurie yelled and then said "Listen Destiny..." she said getting closer to me "We took you cause Sarah said that she would take the price off our heads, cause Thomas was about to shoot you. We then signed the paper and well here we are, and I can't stop Thomas I'm sorry but ya..." she said and left to stand behind Thomas. He held the gun back up, I looked down knowing that this would be it. *BANG* and the gun shot

A few seconds later there was more gun shots, I looked up and saw Thomas on the ground with Laurie by his side weeping. I was panicked I thought I was dead but I looked over to Jake and there was those five people, they were shooting at some people trying to get close to me. 'BARK BARK' I looked over and saw Scout beside me I heard a gunshot close to me and fell down, "ouch" I said. I looked down to my leg and my foot was gushing blood, I looked to Scout and my eyes were watering, "Scout...." I said and then everything went black.

*beep......beep......beep.....* I groaned and opened my eyes to find My Aunt, a women, Mrs. Stott, Jacelyn, and Five boys. "Destiny" Jacelyn said I looked over and she was holding my hand, I looked around the room and my aunt said, "Come Joshua, let's go get the doctor" her and a boy left. "Destiny can you speak?" Mrs. Stott said "Yes" I said but my throat hurt like heck. "but my throat hurts". I looked over to the woman, her eyes were puffy, the four other boys were around her. "Hello" A doctor said while walking in with my aunt and Joshua? I looked over to him and he said "How are you feeling?" "Ok" I said, "here take this" he said while handing me a cup. I drank it, "Great job, now can you sit up?" I tried to sit up but it was hard, "alright we need you to get you to sit up so.... Brent can you come help me?" "sure thing" Brent said and he walked over and helped me sit up. Once I was up the doctor said, "Well I have to go check up on Jake so I'll be back soon" "Jake? Where is he?" I asked "He is next door he got injured" Jacelyn said as Mrs. Stott came over and said "I'm going to check on him Jacelyn you can stay or you can come check on him" "I'll come mom, Destiny please stay safe and I'll be back as soon as I can" I nodded and they left.

After a while I spoke up "So" I coughed and two guys came and sat beside me "so who are you guys?" I looked at the five guys, my aunt was talking to the woman. "Oh you wont know who we are right..." one said "Well im Brent, that's Joshua, Connor, Hunter, and Shawn." Brent said pointing to everyone. Hunter spoke up "im 18, Joshua is the oldest he's 20, Brent's 19, Connor is 15, and Shawn is 13." "hi...." I said. "geez guys, Destiny we are your brothers" Joshua said. "wait what?" I said "your my... my -" I coughed again, Brent said "you ok? And yes we are your brothers" I was speechless. "and, is that my-" "yes she's our mom" I looked at them and my aunt and mom came over "sweetheart did they tell you?" my aunt said. I nodded my head, "well here is the woman you've been looking for" she said pointing to my mom "Mom?" I said. She was crying and nodding her head. Connor and Shawn stood up and let my mom sit on the bed, where she hugged me being careful "im so sorry" she said crying. "Its ok" I said crying. I just met my mom. After an hour I got to know my real family and well I felt like ive known them forever. "Wait!" I said. Brent and Joshua stood up and looked all around "WHAT?" Brent said "Where's Scout?" I said "Who?" Shawn said "Scout my dog" my aunt stood up and said "he's just outside. Want me to get him?" I nodded and she left. A few minutes later I saw Scout run in and he stopped and looked at me. "Hi boy" he barked and jumped up on the bed, my mom got off and Scout just started to lick all over my face "haha easy boy watch my leg" I said and he hoped off.

It was 7pm and only Joshua and Brent were the only ones left, Mom had to take the rest home, and My aunt went home with the Stott's. The doctor came in at like 5 and I found out that the slashes on my back were deep, I had broken my arm, My foot got shot and couldn't use it for a while, and that on my neck and arms there were cuts from a knife, that they were pretty deep as well. He gave me some medicine and left. He came back in at 6:30 to check up on me. And right now we were watching TV until Brent asked "So how's your leg??" "It really hurts" I said looking down at my leg. "So Destiny, since we are siblings and well you love us already" Joshua says "ya??" I say "Do you have a thing for Jake Stott?" Brent said "well I don't know.....maybe......ya..." they laughed and Joshua said "It's alright, we like Jake and we approve" "haha ya.... Hey Joshua?" he looked at me and I said "can I call you Joshy?" he laughed and nodded. We talked about random things until a nurse came in and said "Alright so visiting hours are over but if you want one of you can stay...." I looked at them and then Josh said "I'll stay" I smiled and the nurse nodded and left "Well I'll come back tomorrow Squirt" Brent said calling me by his nickname for me. He stood up and kissed my forehead and left. "well lets go to bed sis" I nodded noticing how tired I was, Josh helped me lay back down. "Goodnight Joshy" "Goodnight Dessy" and I fell asleep.
