The Stranger

Chapter 9

 I woke up and this time only Shawn was in my room he was sitting beside me on the floor, “Shawn?” he stood up “ya?” he said “what are you doing in here?”  I asked him, I shifted so that I could sit up, “I wanted to know if you loved him?” he asked me. Did I love Jake? I don’t know…. We’ve been through a lot, do I love him? I told Shawn “Yes Shawn I do, why do you ask?” he hugged me and said “I hope he will protect you, cause mommy said that when she lost you she never forgave herself” I hugged him and said “Well come help me chose what to wear today, Jake has something planned, and I think you know” Shawn laughed and went to my closet. I leaned over and kissed Jakes head then got up and walked over to my closet. 

Shawn chose some jean short shorts, a yellow tank top, a jean jacket, and a grey beanie. “Thanks Shawn now come on I have to change” he hugged me and left my closet and grabbed my phone. “What are you doing Shawn?” I asked while getting changed. “I’m planning on waking your boyfriend up” he said and then I could hear Jake’s phone going off, and Shawn darting out of my room. Once I was changed Jake was sitting up and he said “You called me?” I laughed and said “Shawn took my phone” “oh, by the way you look nice” I walked over to my bed and said “Well I’m ready for the day now its your turn” and with that I walked out to the sound of him laughing. I got down stairs and my family was sitting around the table “Hello sweet heart, how did you sleep?” My mom said walking over to hug me, I hugged her and said “Good thanks” Josh came in the room mad and said “You still haven’t said where you were last night!” I looked at the table and then to my mom “I went out with a friend, his friends wanted to come so I said yes an-“I said until Josh said “A GUY!??” “Joshua stop it” Austin said walking over to us. “Yes he’s my friend and then after the movie was done the wanted to go to the pub for a few beers” I told my mom, “Did you drink?” Hunter asked “no” “how many guys were there?” Brent asked “four” “Well does Jake know?” Connor asked “Yes I told him last night, now please move I’m hungry” I said and pushed past my brothers; I walked to the fridge and pulled out some straw berries. I walked out to the porch and Scout was waiting for me, I pet him and ate my strawberries. A few minutes later Jake and Shawn came out and sat with me, “I heard what happened” Jake said, “I didn’t do anything, I was defending you guys” Shawn said, I ruffled Shawn’s hair and said “Thanks Shawn, the others just don’t see it like you do” he smiled and took some strawberries. Jake leaned over and kissed me, then grabbed some too. 

Its been about an hour and right now me, Jake, and Scout were by the lake on the shore. “ya know what Destiny?” I turned and looked at Jake “What?” he raised his hand and started to pet Scout with me, “I want to tell you something” he said “And I want to tell you something too, but you first” he looked like he was nervous but then he said it, those three little words I’ve been wanting to say to him “I love you” I looked at him and said “I love you too Jake, you don’t know how long I’ve wanted to say that to you” he smiled and kissed me. Nothing could be better than this moment, I was with my dog, with Jake, and to top that all off he said he loved me.
