Chapter 7

*a week later*

“JOSH!!!!” I yelled.  I was sitting in my room, things have been going great so far, I moved in with my real family, I got to stay with Scout, I had my own room, which was on the third floor of the house, it was painted purple, It had a king sized bed, a walk-in closet, I had my own bathroom, and a deck. Besides my room I was dating Jake, and I am really happy about that. Right now I was yelling at Josh because he took my phone and I was texting Jake. “JOSH GIVE IT BACK” I said. My step-dad Austin came upstairs, “Joshua give your sister her phone” Josh listened to Austin and gave me my phone back, “thank ya bro” I said and went back to my room. I texted Jake to come over, we lived in the country but I loved it here and he liked coming out here. I walked over to my bathroom and took off the sweater I was wearing, to look at my back, “Here let me help” Shawn said walking in. I said “Thanks, and why are you in my room?” “I came in here to check up on you” he said helping me see the now fading scars on my back. “thanks bud but I’m fine really” I said walking over to my closet while he sat on my bed, “I know but I just don’t want to lose you like mom did” he said, I walked over and sat down on the bed and hugged him “Hey, I’m not going anywhere ok?” he looked up at me and said “Good, and I’m glad we found you”  he hugged me and then got up, walked over to my desk, pulled out a purple permanent marker and walked over her. He lifted my arm that had a cast on it and wrote I Love my big sister <3 ~Shawn he sat down and I kissed his head. The doorbell rang and Shawn said “well that must be Jake….” “Ya, come on lets go” I said pulling him up, and pulling him out the door. “Wait” he said before we got to the stairs. He ran to my room and came running back with a sweater. “Here, I don’t want anyone to look inappropriately at my sister.” I laughed and put it on; I picked him up and carried him down the stairs, “Aren’t I too heavy for your foot?” He said. I looked down at my foot, it was wrapped up in tensor bandage. “No its alright I said, And continued down the stairs. We got to the door, Shawn got off my back.  and I opened it, Jake walked in and kissed me and Shawn yelled “EWW NO PDA PLEASE” me and Jake just laughed and he said “Nice to see you too Shawn.” Shawn said “Ya but hurt my sister and I hurt you, oh and Dest I’m going outside to play” and with that he left leaving me and Jake alone. “so how’s your foot?” Jake asked. “Its doing better, How’s your arm?” he smiled and said “I know you don’t want to talk about this” I laughed and he took my hand and brought me to the kitchen.  We went to the fridge and grabbed some food, we walked over to the lift and put the food in it and walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs. “my room?” I said “Of course.” We went to my room and pulled the food up from the lift, we went to my deck and ate the food. We talked about anything and everything, till it got dark. We went inside and he said “well ya know I should be getting home…” I nodded and he walked over to my closet, I grabbed a pair of his sweats, and T-shirt. “Haha I see you still have those” “ya they are my favourite, now stay here I’ll be right back” I went to my bathroom and got changed; I brushed my hair and walked out. I walked out and found Jake sitting on my bed, I walked over to him and sat beside him, he was on his phone. I kissed his shoulder and said “I’m tired” he turned and kissed me, “then lets get you to bed” I nodded and he stood up, I pulled back my covers and got under them. Jake sat beside me and he grabbed my hand. I looked at him and then I grabbed my phone with my other hand, I unlocked it and saw that I had 3 messages, one from Jacelyn (me and her are pretty close now, she’s like my best friend), one from a guy I met at school (yes I got to school I’ve been going since the day after I came home), and the last one was from Connor. I opened Jacelyn’s and it said 

From: Jacelyn

Hey Babe, how’d your day go? Did Jake come over? Anyways just wanted to say goodnight. Love ya Xx

I laughed and Jake looked over to me, “it’s a text from Jacelyn” “oh” he said and continued to play with my fingers. I texted Jacelyn back with one hand

To: Jacelyn

Hey Girlie, It went awesome and yes Jake did come over  haha Goodnight to you too, see you tomorrow? Want me to pick you up? Xx

I opened the one from Drew the kid from school. It said

From: Drew

Hey Destiny, was wondering if you wanted to catch a movie tomorrow?? 

Hmm a movie…… “hey Jake” I said he looked at me and said “ya?” “do you think I could go watch a movie tomorrow with a friend?” I asked, I bet if I said it was a guy he’d say no “ya sure thing babe” “thanks you’re the best” he smiled and kissed my hand. I texted Drew back

To: Drew

Hey Drew, Ya sure that would be great :D Can’t wait…. Which movie do you want to see??

I looked over to Jake and he was just having fun playing with my hand, “hey Jake” he looked at me and I said “ya know you can come sit over here” I pat the bed next to me “haha alright” he got up and crawled over to the spot next to me, he laid down and put his head on my stomach. I put my hand on his head and just played with his brown hair that had blonde highlights. He smiled and raised his hand to my hair and started to pay with it. I looked at my phone and opened Connor’s message it said:

From: Connor

Hey Dest, hope you are having fun with Jake… just remember to tell him that is he hurts you, or touches you in a way that you don’t like; me, Josh, Hunter, Shawn, and Brent will hurt him where only a man can get hurt. Anyways Love ya sis 

“haha hey Jake” I looked down and he was just staring at me “ya babe?” “Here read this” I said, I gave him my phone and a few moments later he was laughing “Well you have amazing brothers” I laughed and took my phone and locked it. Jake sat up and I laid down. He was going to get up when I said “Please don’t leave me” he turned around and said “I promised that I’d never leave you” he took off his shirt , got in bed, and laid beside me. I put my phone on my night stand and he put his beside mine, his arm snaked it’s way around my stomach. I looked over to him and kissed him, I turned around and I said “Jake, can you sing to me?” “sure thing babe” and he started to sing my favourite song, Little Things.
