Annie's Point of View

I looked around and my eyes widened.

"What are you doing here?"

It was Armin.

"Were you the one who scheduled the meeting?" I scoffed.

"I'm sorry baby. Will you give me time to explain?" He looked at me with his sincere eyes. His eyes reflected the moon and it looked ethereal.

My heart started beating quickly. I was mad at him but why do I feel so soft right now?

He held my hand and kissed it.

"I'm sorry for not reassuring you sooner, darling." He pulled me into a hug and placed my bangs onto the back of my ears before kissing my forehead.

I remained silent. Some part in me wanted him to tell me that he didn't cheat. That I was just overthinking. But some part of me also told me to drop him. That he always made me feel anxious.

"I was preparing for something."

"What is it?"

"The girl you told me I was with last time was my cousin. I asked her for help."

"For what?"

He smiled and kissed my cheek. Why can't he just tell me directly.

He turned me around and I noticed how the place has brightened. There were fireflies everywhere. Each flower in the field glowed and shone its color. The breeze slightly hit my skin but Armin's warmth kept me stable.

"Armin...What is this?"

I heard no one. He didn't answer me. Silence filled us as I watch the glowing bugs fly and fill the place with lights.

It was Ethereal. It feels like I'm in a fantasy.

"Armin?"

He kept silent for a couple of seconds.

"I prepared everything just for this special day."

I turned around and saw him kneeling in front of me. He smiled at me and held out a velvet box that was shaped like a rose. He opened it and there shone a lunar moonstone diamond ring.

My eyes widened as I covered my mouth. My heart beated rapidly and my breathing was heavy. My eyes started to water.

"Will you keep shining through my dark nights for all of my life, Annie Leonhart?" He said with a soft yet alluring voice.

It was just yesterday that we had come into an argument.

Because of me.

Because of how doubtful I think of him.

I wasn't aware that he was preparing for this proposal.

Everything was perfect. We were under the moonlight. The fireflies lit up our surrounding and the flower field swayed as if it were our audience.

I nodded. I bit my lip before saying yes.

"Yes, Armin."

He stood up and held my hand. He slowly slid the ring into my ring finger.

It was the perfect fit.

Armin pulled me in for a hug. He caressed my cheeks and kissed me passionately.

And there goes that feeling. The feeling of love.

Suddenly, fireworks started to appear. Same goes for the claps I heard.
